Bring a little peace to your morning routine with these hand-thrown stoneware mugs. Each piece is crafted in my Uttarahalli studio, designed to feel just right in your hands with ergonomic grips and unique, nature-inspired textures.

I love how this double-walled paw mug turned out. The paw prints are carved from the outer wall, making it a perfect gift for any dog lover. The deep blue glaze is just beautiful.

This double-walled Hamsa mug is designed to bring a sense of peace and protection. The outer wall is carved with the Hamsa hand symbol and covered in a beautiful blue crystalline glaze.

Part of my double-walled mug series, this piece features a geometric diamond pattern. The technique makes the mug surprisingly lightweight and comfortable to hold.

My drip grip tumblers are designed with an indent for your fingers, making them incredibly comfortable to hold. The glaze drips naturally, so every single cup is one of a kind.

Sip in style with this handmade ceramic goblet. Thrown on the wheel and finished with a speckled blue glaze, it feels elegant and special.

About this collection

What you do not see in the pictures is how lightweight these double-walled mugs actually are. By throwing two walls and joining them, I create a natural insulation layer that keeps your chai or coffee hot while the exterior stays comfortable to the touch. It is extra effort at the wheel, but it makes every sip feel a little more intentional.

Why a double-walled mug?

Most people are used to standard thick-walled ceramics. My double-walled mugs are different. I throw two separate cylinders on the wheel, join them at the rim, and then carve out the outer layer. This creates a pocket of air that acts as an insulator. You get the weight and comfort of handmade stoneware without the bulk.

The Process

Every cup starts as a ball of high-fire stoneware clay. It is a slow, three-stage process: throwing the inner and outer walls, joining them carefully while the clay is leather-hard, and finally, the carving phase. This is where I add the leaf patterns, paw prints, or geometric cut-outs you see. Because I use Amaco glazes and double-fire them at 1220 degrees Celsius, these pieces are not just for display. They are fully food-safe, microwave-safe, and built for daily use.

Caring for Your Ceramics

  • Durability: High-fire stoneware is chip-resistant and designed to last years.
  • Maintenance: They are dishwasher-safe, but I prefer a gentle hand wash to keep the glazes vibrant.
  • Customization: Love a specific glaze effect or pattern? I take custom orders for mug sets, usually with a 2-3 week lead time for drying, firing, and glazing.

Whether you are looking for a Hamsa-inspired mug for your morning ritual or a sturdy goblet for your desk, these pieces are made to be held. They are intended to ground you, just as the process of making them grounds me.
