Outdoor Group Yoga Classes: Find Peace in Nature
You don't always need a mountain trek for mental clarity. I take my traditional Ashtanga practice to Bangalore’s parks and society spaces, helping you switch off the city noise and reconnect with your breath.
Feeling the need for a mental break from city life? This is the solution. A clip from our group session at Cubbon Park, where we use meditation and flowing asanas to pause the racing mind.
A look at our big community gathering for International Yoga Day. Practicing together outdoors brings a unique energy, whether you are doing a headstand or a simple seated pose.
A point-of-view video from one of our morning sessions in a residential society. This is how yoga can alter your daily life, bringing strength and mindfulness right to your doorstep.
Guiding a small group through a sequence on an outdoor deck. These classes focus on proper alignment and technique, ensuring you get the fundamentals right, from basic stretches to more complex poses.
About Outdoor Group Yoga: Shehar Mein Shanti
These aren't your typical gym classes. Whether we are meeting at Cubbon Park or on a residential deck in Bellandur, the focus remains on Ashtanga fundamentals—Sun Salutations, proper alignment, and controlled breathing. You will sweat, but the real point is the stillness you feel finishing a session under the open sky rather than under artificial lights.
Finding Sukoon in the City
People often ask me, 'Why go outside to do yoga when you have a perfectly good studio?' The answer is simple: your body knows the difference between fresh air and air conditioning. When you practice outdoors, you’re not just training your muscles; you’re syncing your rhythm with nature. It’s what I call 'Shehar mein Shanti' (Peace in the city).
What to Expect
I run these sessions like a proper Ashtanga practice. It’s not about doing fancy poses for Instagram—it’s about the work. We focus on:
- Technique & Alignment: I correct your postures on the spot. If your back is rounded in a forward fold or your knees are locking in standing poses, you’ll hear about it.
- Consistency: We use the same flow so you can track your own progress. You show up, we breathe, we move, and you leave feeling lighter.
- Group Energy: There is a unique vibe when a group moves together outdoors. You see others struggling and succeeding, which pushes you to stay on your mat for that extra minute.
Where We Practice
I keep these sessions accessible. We frequently use:
- Cubbon Park: The green lung of the city, perfect for morning pranayama.
- Residential Society Decks: If your community has a space, I bring the mat to you.
Who This Is For
You don’t need to be an expert to join. Whether you are a corporate professional sitting at a desk all day or someone recovering from back pain, the asanas are adaptable. Just bring your own mat, some water, and the willingness to fight with yourself on the mat for one hour. If you do the work, the sukoon will follow.
