Yogic Philosophy: Understanding the Why Behind Your Asana
Yoga is much more than just physical exercise. It is a way to find inner peace, discipline, and skill in action. Here, I break down the philosophical concepts that form the foundation of my practice.
People often ask, "What do you get from doing so much yoga?" The answer is a state of calm and detachment from worldly highs and lows. This is the path to truth.
The phrase 'Tyagat Shanti Anantaram' means that true peace is our destiny, not fleeting happiness. It is achieved through letting go, a core principle we explore in our practice.
'Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam' means yoga brings skill to all your actions. This principle from the Bhagavad Gita guides our practice, helping us perform every action with awareness and excellence.
About Yogic Philosophy: The 'Why' Behind the Asana
Most people come to me looking for a workout, but they stay because the practice changes their headspace. When we apply ancient concepts like 'Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam'—finding skill in every action—to our daily life, everything shifts. You start to realize that the mat is just a training ground; the real yoga happens when you bring that same calm, focused energy to your work, your conflicts, and your quiet moments at home.
Often, we treat yoga as a physical task, something to be finished like a gym session. My approach is to move beyond that. In this cluster, you will find videos and explanations that link the physical struggle on the mat to the mental clarity you need in life.
We discuss 'Tyagat Shanti Anantaram'—how letting go is the only path to true peace. This isn't theoretical; we test this discipline through Ashtanga sun salutations, breathing, and meditation. Whether you are a beginner or someone who has been practicing for years, the question remains the same: why are you doing this?
My classes are designed to help you answer that. I focus on technical precision and deep philosophical understanding. If you are looking for a quick fix or an easy routine, my style might not be for you. But if you want to understand the science of your own body and mind through traditional methods, let's work on this together.
