Dand and Surya Namaskar aren't just gym exercises. They are the foundation of a functional, strong body. I teach these traditional methods to help you build real stamina, starting exactly where you are.

Surya Namaskar is one of the best ways to burn calories and transform your body. It's a complete workout that proves yoga is anything but slow. With just Sun Salutations and Anulom Vilom, incredible transformations are possible.

The 12-step Surya Namaskar is a timeless and complete practice, rooted deep in our traditions. This is a demonstration of the classic Sun Salutation flow.

This video compares the energies of Chandra Namaskar (Moon Salutation) and Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation). They represent the two forces, Ida and Pingala, or Shiv and Shakti, that yoga seeks to balance.

As the guru says, start with six Surya Namaskars and slowly build up to 50. This gradual progression allows your body to adapt and build immense strength and vitality.

Here are five variations of Traditional Dand for a powerful morning workout. This sequence includes Vruchik Dand and Chakra Dand to build strength and mobility.

Hindu pushups, or Dands, are an amazing exercise for the upper body. They help build a broad chest, a strong upper back, powerful arms, and even flexible hamstrings.

The Hanuman Dand is a fantastic exercise for preventing back pain. Practicing just ten of these slowly every day can strengthen your spine, improve hip flexibility, and build arm strength.

Looking for a full-body workout? Add the Hanuman Dand to your practice. It's a dynamic and powerful movement that engages your entire body.

Yoga is for everyone, and so is the Dand. This video shows three different forms of the exercise for beginner, intermediate, and advanced practitioners. You can practice according to your level.

For a full-body workout, try the Chakra Dand. This video demonstrates the powerful flow, which is a great way to build strength and stamina. I recommend three sets of ten on each leg.

About Traditional Strength: Dand & Surya Namaskar

Don't try to knock out 50 Dand in your first week. I see people burn out because they treat this like a quick gym challenge rather than a daily practice. We start with six Surya Namaskars and modified Dand variations, building your strength slowly so your body actually adapts. Whether you are in my Bellandur studio or joining online, we focus on the alignment that makes these movements safe and effective.
