Yoga Philosophy and Lifestyle: The AshTangi Approach
Yoga is more than just an exercise; it is a way of living. Explore the practice that builds discipline, calm, and real strength from within.
"Kya milta hai tumhe itna yog karke?" (What do you get from doing so much yoga?). The answer is a calm and steady mind, a state of being where you are not swayed by joy or sorrow. You come closer to the truth.
If you love your body, do asana. If you love your breath, do pranayama. If you love your soul, meditate. This is the essence of yoga, a journey of connecting with every layer of your being.
This is yoga. And this is also yoga. And this is yoga too. Whether you are in a quiet meditative pose, a challenging inversion, or a simple stretch, it is all part of the same path. Don't compare, just practice.
This is the visible transformation of yoga. Before, my posture on the couch was slumped, my mind distracted. After yoga, my spine is straight, my mind is calm and focused. This is the inner peace that practice brings.
Motivation is temporary, but discipline is what gets you on the mat every day. Motivation is scrolling on your phone, while discipline is doing the work. Choose discipline.
Practice yoga before you get sick. Afterwards, you will only be running to doctors. Prevention is the highest form of medicine, and yoga is the best preventive practice.
If you start feeling bad on the one day you don't do yoga, you know it has become an essential part of your life. It's a sign that your body and mind are truly connected to the practice.
About this collection
Most people treat yoga like a gym workout, but true progress starts when you align your breath with your intent. Whether you are struggling with morning motivation or just need to clear your mind, I teach you how to move with purpose—not just to sweat, but to find that elusive sukoon (peace) in your daily routine.
Yoga isn't just about holding a pose for the camera. It is about "Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam," which means skill in action. My approach, whether we are training online via Zoom or in-person at my Bellandur/Sarjapur studio, is focused on the Ashtanga primary series but adapted to your reality.
Why Practice This Way?
I don't offer quick-fix solutions because they don't last. Instead, we build a foundation. If you are doing online classes, we focus on a 5-day weekly routine that covers asana flow, strength conditioning, and breathwork. For those joining my offline batches, we keep the numbers small (8-12 students) so I can give you physical adjustments and help with inversions like headstands and handstands.
My Philosophy
- Discipline over Motivation: Motivation comes and goes, but discipline gets you on the mat even on the days you don't feel like it.
- Breath-led Movement: If your breath is shallow, your practice is incomplete. We use pranayama techniques like Kapalbhati and Anulom Vilom to purify the nervous system.
- Functional Strength: We mix traditional Dand (Indian push-ups) with yoga to build real strength, not just flexibility.
I believe prevention is the highest form of medicine. If you wait until you are sick to practice, you will only end up running to doctors. We practice to stay healthy, mobile, and calm. Whether you are a beginner or looking to master advanced skills, the path is the same: show up, breathe, and put in the work. The technique is mine, but the growth is yours.
Vaibhav
Main Vaibhav hoon. I don't believe in shortcuts; I believe in showing up on the mat every single day. My style is simple—I show you the technique, but the hard work, that’s on you.
