Most reading programs rely on rote memorization, but my approach is different. It uses sensory, Science of Reading-based activities to help children decode sounds and build confidence at their own pace.

My Learn to Read, Read to Learn kit uses multi-sensory activities to build foundational literacy skills. This activity focuses on phonemic awareness, connecting sounds to letters using tangible objects, which is a core principle of the Science of Reading.

This video shares my journey with the Science of Reading, from my own professional development to creating the L2R R2L program. It features moments of reading with my son, which is the inspiration behind my mission to help all children.

A look inside a workshop on reading comprehension and multidisciplinary learning. I share strategies for making text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world connections, which deepens understanding and critical thinking.

This is the flyer for a conference workshop I presented on connecting English reading comprehension to other subjects. My goal is to equip educators with practical strategies to integrate literacy skills across the entire curriculum.

A heartfelt note from a parent whose son struggled with reading. After using my methods, he is now reading passages independently and with great interest. Testimonials like this are my greatest reward.

About this collection

When a child struggles to read, it is rarely due to a lack of ability. Often, they just have not had the chance to connect letters to actual sounds in a physical, meaningful way. My kits use tactile letter cards and object miniatures to bridge that gap, allowing children to see and touch how sounds become words. We focus on phonemic awareness first, which gives children the tools they need to decode text, rather than relying on guessing or memorizing sight words.

The Science of Reading is not just a buzzword. It is a research-backed framework that maps how our brains actually learn to process written language. Many traditional systems rush this process, which causes children to feel anxious and disconnected from what they are reading. My Learn to Read, Read to Learn program slows this down, focusing on the five pillars of literacy: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.

Why this approach works

  • Multisensory engagement: Children learn best when they are active. My kits include physical miniatures and tracing cards, turning abstract letter shapes into tangible experiences.
  • Confidence over speed: We prioritize understanding over pace. By mastering how to blend sounds, children stop guessing and start reading with genuine intent.
  • Support for neurodiversity: This framework is specifically designed to be inclusive, providing the structure and clarity that neurodivergent learners often require to thrive.

Beyond the kit

I believe reading is a gateway to everything else, from math to humanities. In my workshops and programs, I show parents and teachers how to connect literacy to real-world context, helping children make text-to-self and text-to-world connections. Whether you are homeschooling or looking for extra support alongside school, these resources offer a path toward reading with ease and joy.

My name is Jaspreet, and my journey with Hattennoki started with my own son, Kai. I create these literacy tools because I know what it feels like to watch a child struggle, and I know the relief that comes when they finally unlock the code to reading. I want every parent to see that magic happen, without the pressure of rigid systems.
