Joyful Learning: Math & Literacy Workshops

byHattennokiDelivered across IndiaView full gallery

I design workshops where math and reading become a playground. Whether it is solving logic puzzles or decoding phonics, we use hands-on games to help children build confidence without the pressure of rote learning.

A glimpse into one of my STEM, problem-solving, and math stories workshops. Children are naturally curious, and my goal is to channel that curiosity into meaningful learning through hands-on activities and collaborative play.

This video captures the wonderful energy of an open house event. My son Kai is proudly demonstrating the games he helped inspire, showing visitors how fun and engaging learning can be.

This is an announcement for one of my pop-up events where I showcase my learning kits. These events are a wonderful opportunity for me to connect with parents and children, and to see the immediate joy and engagement my games can spark.

A short video from a two-day math camp, filled with games, stories, movement, and problem-solving. My aim is to bring joy and energy into the world of math for these young learners.

This flyer outlines the structure of my math and problem-solving camp, which focuses on number sense, patterns, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Each session is designed to be hands-on and highly interactive.

About this collection

Our workshops focus on 'mathematizing' the world around us. Instead of memorizing formulas, children use tools like linking cubes and Yonjuu cards to physically touch, build, and visualize concepts, turning abstract equations into tangible, solvable problems that actually make sense.

I believe that when children feel, touch, and play with an idea, it sticks. My camps and workshops are built on the 'Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract' framework, ensuring that students don't just learn to solve a problem on paper but understand the 'why' behind it.

Whether I am running a summer camp or a pop-up session at creative hubs like Namma Nook in Bengaluru, my goal remains the same: to remove the fear of 'being bad at math.' We use specific tools like my Yonjuu math deck for number sense and sensory activities based on the Science of Reading to make literacy less intimidating.

I also partner with schools to help educators integrate these play-based strategies into their daily curriculum. By focusing on social-emotional growth alongside academics, I ensure that children are not just learning—they are thriving. If you are a parent looking to help your child navigate curiosity, or an educator wanting to bring more energy into your classroom, these sessions provide the tools to make that happen.

Hattennoki

Delivered across IndiaStarting ₹550 per deck

I started Hattennoki because I wanted my son, Kai, and other children to see learning as an adventure, not a chore. My workshops are an invitation to get messy with ideas, explore how we think, and build a foundation where curiosity leads the way.
