About The Arena: Full-Contact Kumite
This is where we go full contact. You will need to wear protective head and body gear, and you must be prepared for real, intense sparring. We prioritize technique and safety first, but make no mistake: you will sweat, you will feel the impact, and you will learn how to defend yourself properly.
The Reality of the Arena
Kyokushin isn't just about forms and katas. It is a full-contact art. When you enter the arena, you are training for real outcomes. We do not practice 'light sparring.' Whether you are training for a tournament or just building your inner strength, the intensity is the same.
How We Train for Kumite
- Controlled Sparring: We use Yakusoku Kumite to build muscle memory before moving to full-contact drills.
- Conditioning: You cannot fight if your body isn't ready. We incorporate body-hardening drills (Hodu) to ensure you can take a hit as well as you can give one.
- Tournament Prep: If you want to compete, I will put you in the 'Unlimited Professional Fighter' program. We cover ring craft, tournament rules, and strategy for state and national-level events.
Is This For You?
I have students ranging from 5-year-old beginners to black belts. You don't start as a pro. You start as a student. You learn how to move, how to strike, and eventually, how to handle the pressure of an opponent. We train in both our matted indoor dojos for safety and on open grounds to build grit.
