Grand Residential Architecture & Luxury Estate Designs
We design homes that balance grandeur with intimate comfort. Our large-scale residential projects are grounded in the specific landscape and climate, creating living spaces that feel like meaningful legacies.
The vaulted entryway of the House of Verandahs creates a dramatic first impression, drawing the eye through the home to the gardens beyond. The design establishes long visual lines and a sense of symmetry, allowing light and movement to flow with ease.
The House of Verandahs is planned around light, breeze, and the comfort of its namesake transitional spaces. The architecture is thoughtfully positioned to optimize shade and airflow, creating a home that is naturally cool and connected to its landscape.
Double-height windows in the living room of the House of Verandahs flood the space with natural light and frame views of the surrounding greenery. We used a palette of muted tones and custom furniture to create an atmosphere of both grandeur and comfort.
This 3D visualization shows a new residence on the rise in Nagpur. We designed the facade with elegant lines and layered terraces to bring a timeless, understated presence to the city, making everyday living feel special.
The grand foyer of the House of Verandahs is a study in symmetry and scale. We used contrasting black and white marble and a soaring ceiling to create a powerful axial view that connects the entrance directly to the heart of the home and the landscape.
This bedroom in the House of Verandahs is a private retreat that remains connected to the home's overall design language. Parquet floors and classic wall mouldings speak to colonial proportions, while the view opens directly onto the lush outdoors.
The deep, shaded verandahs are the soul of this residence. They act as essential buffers between the indoors and outdoors, regulating temperature while extending the living spaces into the garden for year-round enjoyment.
About this collection
When designing grand residences, we prioritize the relationship between mass and void. You will notice that the scale of a home does not equate to coldness; rather, we use architectural elements like deep verandahs and central courtyards to regulate temperature and create intimate pockets of space that feel personal even within a large footprint.
For us, a grand residence is not defined merely by its square footage, but by its ability to hold a narrative. We approach estate design as a dialogue between the land and the structure, ensuring that every project is climate-responsive and deeply rooted in its context.
Designing for Legacy
We believe architecture should outlive the architect. Our process for grand estates begins with a forensic study of the site. We look at sun paths, wind direction, and existing vegetation before a single line is drawn. This allows us to integrate passive cooling strategies—like the deep verandahs and cross-ventilated corridors you see in our work—that reduce the reliance on mechanical climate control.
The Symmetry of Living
In our larger residential projects, we often employ a strong axial layout. This organizes the home into clear functional zones, separating the public areas from private quarters without sacrificing the sense of openness. We use courtyards not just as decorative features but as thermal lungs, bringing light into the deepest parts of the floor plan while providing a private outdoor experience.
Material Honesty
Luxury, in our view, comes from the integrity of materials. We prefer honest finishes like stone, wood, and lime plaster that age well and gain character over time. Because we have our own workshop, we design custom furniture and joinery that fits the specific proportions of your room, ensuring that every corner feels intentional and complete. Whether we are planning a new build from the ground up or restoring an older estate, our focus remains on creating a home that is functional, timeless, and uniquely yours.
GroupDCA
At groupDCA, we have been shaping residential legacies since 1996. We believe a home is a dialogue between the land, the materials, and the people who live within it. Our practice is a collective effort led by Amit and Rahul, where design debates are constant and the goal is always to create spaces that feel lived-in and enduring.
