For the IIT Madras Research Park, we created an inspiring and enjoyable environment for researchers and students. The central courtyard design is inspired by a traditional 'kund' or stepped tank, creating an informal meeting place that fosters the exchange of ideas.
This is our landscape design plan for the American University of Duhok Kurdistan in Iraq. The design merges classical architectural elements with traditional Islamic garden patterns, creating a unique cultural expression for this international hub of academic excellence.
The landscape for the L&T Business Towers in Mumbai features clean lines, manicured lawns, and strategically placed trees. This corporate campus design projects a professional and modern image while providing green breakout spaces for employees.
We design landscapes that promote health and well-being in corporate settings. This lawn at the TCS campus in Mihan, one of our projects, is being used for a large-scale yoga session, demonstrating how our spaces can be adapted for corporate wellness activities.
The biophilic design for this institutional campus seamlessly integrates nature into the built environment. The green roofs and meandering central garden enhance human well-being and environmental health, reflecting our commitment to sustainable design principles.
About Institutional & Corporate Campuses
At the IIT Madras Research Park, we moved away from standard flat lawn layouts by drawing inspiration from the traditional 'kund' or stepped tank. This design creates a sunken, intimate courtyard that naturally draws researchers and students together for conversation. It demonstrates our core approach: campus landscapes function best when they borrow from local architectural history to encourage genuine social interaction.
For corporate and institutional clients, the landscape is not merely a visual backdrop. It is an extension of the facility's function. Our design process prioritizes the integration of formal and informal spaces, ensuring that outdoor areas support the activities happening inside the buildings. We focus on creating biophilic campus designs that seamlessly blend green roofs, central gardens, and walking paths to improve human well-being and environmental health.
Our Approach to Institutional Design
- Functional Breakout Zones: We treat outdoor spaces as extensions of the office. Whether it is an outdoor meeting pod at a corporate tower or a quiet reading corner on a university campus, we prioritize durable, high-traffic hardscaping that facilitates daily usage.
- Adaptive Spaces: Flexibility is key for modern campuses. As seen at the TCS campus in Mihan, we design lawns and plazas capable of hosting diverse events, from large-scale corporate wellness sessions and yoga days to informal networking mixers.
- Climate-Responsive Planning: Sustainability drives our master planning. We implement water management strategies, such as capturing surface runoff for irrigation, and select native planting palettes that are drought-tolerant and ecologically appropriate for the region.
- Professional Identity: For sites like L&T Business Towers, our work emphasizes clean lines and manicured vegetation to project a professional, modern corporate image. We use landscape elements, such as strategic tree placement and structured pathways, to guide pedestrian flow and define the entrance experience.
We collaborate with architects and project managers to ensure that every landscape design complements the building architecture while solving practical needs like wayfinding, security, and climate control.
