About this collection

These aren't mass-produced planters. We carve each Brindavan from solid granite or sandstone, choosing stone that lasts for generations. The lotus-petal rim and diya niche are standard, but the exact texture and finish will vary because every piece is hand-chiseled here in our Bengaluru workshop. Since these are heavy natural stone, we recommend checking your balcony or terrace’s load-bearing capacity if you aren’t placing them directly on the ground.

Traditional Stone Artistry

For us, creating a Tulasi Brindavan is about honoring 'kai kelasa' (handiwork). We source high-quality natural stone—grey granite for durability, and red or pink sandstone for a warmer, temple-like aesthetic. Whether you are setting up a small space on an apartment balcony or a dedicated garden altar, we have sizes ranging from 18 to 28 inches.

Sacred Details & Motifs

Each Brindavan features functional and symbolic design elements. We include a dedicated 'Garbhagriha' style niche for your oil lamp, which protects the flame even outdoors. On the sides, you will find deep relief carvings of Shanku (conch), Chakra (wheel), and Nama, inspired by the traditions of our local temples. The base is designed in a 'Kamala' (lotus) petal style, creating a cradle for the plant and the sacred space it occupies.

Care and Placement

  • Material Durability: Granite is our most popular choice for outdoor gardens due to its weather resistance, while sandstone offers a softer, more traditional texture.
  • Installation: These are free-standing structures. If you are ordering for a high-rise, please keep the total weight in mind.
  • Maintenance: Stone requires minimal care. A simple wipe-down with water keeps the natural grain looking fresh.

We invite you to visit our Anjanapura space to see the raw stone before we chisel the final details. It’s a quiet spot, and you’ll likely be greeted by our dogs, Scooby and Subbi, before you see the work.
