How to get a pooja decorated at home in Bengaluru
What a pooja at home needs, what it costs in Bangalore, and what to settle before you pay.
What does pooja decoration at home cost in Bengaluru?
Pooja decoration at home here runs from about ₹2,000, for a flower seller's garlands on your mantapa and door, to ₹50,000 or more for a wall of fresh flowers or a mandap built over the deity. The price depends on how much gets built, and whether the flowers are fresh. For a Satyanarayan or a Lakshmi pooja in a flat, the mantapa and the door are plenty. A small local decorator dresses them in fresh flowers for about ₹5,000 to ₹9,000. The event decorators named here who gave us a price start at about ₹10,000. The two lowest steps below are AI estimates, since few flower sellers or small decorators publish a price.
About ₹2,000 to ₹4,500
Garlands and strings from a flower seller, for the deity, the mantapa and the door
AI estimate. Two garlands for the deity, marigold strung for the mantapa, and a toran of marigold, mango leaves and banana stems for the door, tied up at your home. Ask a flower seller near you for one number. In a festival week, the garlands alone can cost two and a half to seven times what they did a week earlier
About ₹5,000 to ₹9,000
The mantapa and the door, dressed by a small local decorator
AI estimate. Fresh marigold and chrysanthemum strings on the mantapa's pillars and top, a banana stem on each side, mango leaves, a garland for the deity, and the main door to match, with the trip
About ₹10,000 to ₹25,000
A backdrop or a simple mandap, by an event decorator
A wall of 6 to 8 feet each way behind the deity: a cloth drape or banana leaves hung with flower strings, or a simple frame of flowers over the mantapa. Ask if brass lamps are in the price
About ₹20,000 to ₹50,000
A wall of flowers, or a mandap built round the deity
Flowers cover the whole wall, or a frame goes up over the deity with a roof of flowers. Ask if tall lamps and a floor sheet are in the price. A bigger mandap, or a pooja in a hall, costs more
Fresh or artificial flowers for a pooja: how much extra is fresh?
Fresh costs more because the flowers are bought for your day: about 1.4 to 2 times as much as artificial, in the two pairs of prices we have. Dream Party Link's festival backdrop starts at ₹10,000 in artificial flowers and ₹20,000 in fresh.
Do decorators charge more around Dasara or Diwali?
Some do. Mahinava Events raises her flower prices for about a week around each festival. Dream Decor says its quote already includes any festival rise, and it won't change it later.
How early should I book a pooja decorator?
Book a few days ahead, or a week ahead for a festival morning. Dream Party Link and Mahinava Events do one or two jobs a day, and on a festival morning many homes want the same hours. Five of the six decorators here ask for four days or less.
What does the pandit bring, and what does the decorator bring?
Send the pandit's list to the decorator with a name against each line. The kalash, mango leaves, banana stems and lamps are easy to miss or pay for twice.
Can I buy the flowers and just pay someone to put them up?
Maybe. No decorator here has told us if they'd put up flowers you bought, or what they'd charge, so ask each one. The flowers for a door and the pooja corner cost about ₹360 to ₹1,105 at the market, by our estimate.
What should I ask before booking, so nothing is added on the day?
Ask for one total in writing that names the size, the flowers, transport and who takes it down. Dream Decor's ₹12,000 to ₹15,000 covers a door and torans. Dream Party Link's fresh backdrop starts at ₹20,000.
How much advance do they take, and do I get it back if I cancel?
Most of the five decorators in the table take 30% to 50% as an advance. That works out to ₹3,600 to ₹6,000 on a ₹12,000 job. Two of the five keep the whole advance if you cancel: Mahinava Events and Dream Decor. If the date might move, ask what moving it costs before you pay.

Want us to find one?
Doing this yourself takes a week. You message ten decorators, many don't reply to a number they don't know, the ones who do send packages that don't line up, and Instagram only shows each one's best day.
Tell us once instead. We come back with the decorators who fit, each priced for your pooja, with their own past work. We already know them: we've checked their real work and their prices, and called their past clients, including about what went wrong. Only about 1 in 10 who apply get in, and every one is re-checked at least every six months. How we verify
Every booking comes with an agreement on what's included and what it costs. It's free for you. The decorator pays mytribe a small fee when you book, and you pay them directly, at the same price as going to them yourself. If something isn't going to plan, a person here sorts it out.
The same chat answers questions about the pooja itself, like whether a quote is fair. This guide is about Bengaluru; for another city, ask on the same number.
