We bring home the spirit of Ganesha through handcrafted stone statues. Inspired by South Indian temple art and carved from natural Krishna Shila and sandstone, each piece carries unique character for your pooja room or garden.

About this collection

When you choose a Ganesha from us, you aren't getting a mass-produced item. Our statues are carved by skilled artisans using traditional techniques, often featuring deep Krishna Shila or durable sandstone. Because these are hand-chiseled—what we call kai kelasa—you will notice subtle variations in the features or stone texture, which is exactly how we believe handmade art should look.

Our Ganesha statues are more than just decor; they are pieces of tradition meant to last for generations. We focus on the 'Gaja gāmbhīrya mukha' style—the majestic elephant face—while ensuring each pose conveys a specific intention.

Working with Krishna Shila & Sandstone

We primarily use two types of stone:

  • Krishna Shila: A dense, black stone synonymous with South Indian temple architecture. It is heavy, durable, and develops a beautiful, subtle patina over time.
  • Sandstone: Often sourced in pink or red hues, this material offers a softer, earthier finish that ages gracefully, making it an excellent choice for garden settings.

Placement for Your Space

Whether you are setting up a dedicated pooja room or looking for a centerpiece for your foyer, the scale matters. We offer sizes ranging from 1.5ft to 2ft, which are ideal for indoor prayer spaces. For gardens, we often suggest placing these statues in natural niches or on granite plinths, allowing the stone to interact with the natural elements. If you are unsure about the placement, drop by our Anjanapura store. We can help you pick a piece that fits the light and layout of your home, and you might even catch a glimpse of our studio process.

Why Hand-Chiseled Matters

Mass production often relies on chemical casting, but we stick to hand-chiseling. This approach preserves the 'prana' or life force of the stone. If you see a small mark or a slight asymmetry, it is not a flaw; it is the fingerprint of the artisan who carved it. This is the heart of our work at Greenhouseblr—bringing the sacred craft of the village temple into your home.
