About this collection
Whether you choose a granite temple lamp or a boulder birdbath, remember that these are living pieces of rock. They are porous and will develop a natural patina or moss over the years when exposed to the elements. We recommend placing them on level, compacted soil or a sturdy granite base to ensure they sit securely in your garden landscape.
Bringing Temple Architecture Home
Our tiered temple lamps are inspired by the silhouettes of South Indian shrine structures. We carve them from durable granite, which holds up against the Bengaluru sun and rain. These aren't factory-milled items; each level is chiseled by hand, so you will see slight variations in the stone grain and texture.
Fountains and Water Features
Many of our temple lamps and boulder pieces can be converted into water features. If you are planning a fountain, we drill the central core to accommodate a pump, creating a gentle cascade that brings the soothing sound of water to your balcony or garden. We suggest using a submersible pump with a flow controller, which we can help you source locally.
Birdbaths and Natural Stones
For those looking to attract wildlife, our birdbaths are shaped from natural river boulders. We leave the outer edges rough to maintain a rustic grip for birds, while the basin is polished smooth for hygiene.
A Note on Placement
- Granite Lamps: Best placed in pairs near an entrance or at the corners of a garden path. They accommodate standard tea lights or oil diyas.
- Boulder Uralis: These are heavy, stable, and perfect for entryways. Use them as birdbaths, or fill them with fresh marigolds and water for a festive centerpiece.
- Care: Since we use natural granite and sandstone, avoid harsh chemicals. A simple wipe-down with water and a soft brush is enough to keep them clean. If you see white mineral deposits from hard water, a light scrub will remove them without damaging the stone.
