Yoga for Flow: Building Strength Through Movement
Yoga for Flow isn't about perfect shapes, it's about the feeling. I weave yoga asanas into my practice to build strength and mobility, helping you find 'Sthira, sukha'—steadiness and ease—in every movement.
Using the hula hoop as a prop for a goddess pose (Utkata Konasana). The hoop can be a great tool to help with alignment, balance, and deepening stretches in yoga.
A standing split variation (Urdhva Prasarita Eka Padasana) while practicing with my twin hoops. This shows how flexibility from yoga directly supports advanced hoop tricks.
Finding balance in a half-moon pose (Ardha Chandrasana) with my hoop. Yoga teaches me the stability and focus I need for my flow arts practice.
Sharing some of the daily affirmations that help me stay mindful and motivated. My practice is as much about mental well-being as it is about physical movement.
A quick tutorial on three easy shoulder warmups using a hula hoop. These rotations and extensions are perfect for preparing your body for a hoop session.
A joyful pose celebrating balance and openness. Using the hoop as a frame helps to visualize the space I'm creating in my body.
Demonstrating three essential stretches to do before hooping. A good warm-up, including side body stretches, is key to a safe and enjoyable flow practice.
About this collection
I don't teach rigid, one-size-fits-all routines. In these sessions, we use the hoop as a prop to specifically target shoulder mobility and spine health, which helps you unlock a range of motion that standard floor-based yoga often misses.
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refine your movement practice, this cluster is about coming home to your body. Yoga is the foundation of my entire practice, and I integrate it into everything I do, from Animal Flow to hula hoop sessions.
Why focus on Yoga for Flow?
Many of us hold tension in our shoulders, hips, and back. By combining traditional yoga asanas with active props, we create a dynamic flow that builds strength while we stretch. It is not about holding a pose perfectly for an hour. It is about using breathwork and grounding to move with intention.
What we explore:
- Mobility as a Base: We focus on warming up the spine and shoulders so you feel open rather than restricted.
- Prop-Assisted Asanas: I use hoops as alignment tools to help deepen stretches and provide stability in poses like Utkata Konasana (Goddess Pose) or Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon).
- Finding Presence: The goal is 'Sthira, sukha'—steadiness and ease. We train to find this state not just on the mat, but in how we carry ourselves throughout the day.
I travel to locations across Bengaluru to conduct these sessions. Whether you want a private coaching session to build your personal flow or a group workshop to get your friends moving, I am here to help you #gowwiththeflow. We move, share, and build a supportive community where anyone can join, regardless of their flexibility level. Let's get moving!
