Unconventional Strength Training for Real Power
We don’t use fancy machines here. My Yamuna Vihar gym is strictly for work—tires, sleds, sledgehammers, and circuits that demand grit. You aren't here for vanity; you're here to build a body that works.
Building explosive power from the ground up. Sledgehammer swings on a tractor tire are a staple for developing rotational strength and full-body conditioning, essential for any combat athlete or fitness enthusiast.
Every strike counts. I guide my clients through sledgehammer drills, focusing on form and power to maximize the conditioning benefits and build a strong, resilient physique.
We take the grind outdoors to keep it raw. This circuit involves agility hurdles for quick footwork and tire flips for raw, primal strength. This is functional fitness at its core.
I believe strength isn't limited to lifting weights. Here, I'm demonstrating a pillar climb, an unconventional bodyweight exercise that builds incredible grip, back, and core strength.
Explosiveness is a key component of athleticism. Box jumps are a fundamental plyometric exercise I use to develop vertical power and improve fast-twitch muscle fiber recruitment for my clients.
Training is always better when you push each other. This partner drill involves on-knee jump squats, a challenging plyometric exercise that builds explosive leg power and coordination.
About Unconventional Strength Training
If you want to train the way a fighter does, this is where you start. My sessions focus on functional power—things like moving heavy tires, swinging sledgehammers, and pushing sleds. This isn't about looking good in a mirror; it's about building a body that performs, recovers, and doesn't quit when the intensity climbs.
I believe jo badalta hai, wo aage badhta hai (he who changes, moves forward). If you keep doing the same old gym routine, you will get the same old results. My unconventional strength training at Fitwithbox isn't just a workout; it's a test of mental toughness.
Why We Train This Way
- Real-World Strength: Machines have a fixed path. Tires, ropes, and sledgehammers do not. You have to stabilize, engage your core, and control the implement, which builds the kind of functional strength you actually use in real life.
- Full-Body Conditioning: We don't isolate muscles here. When you flip a tractor tire or drag a 150kg sled, you are using every muscle from your calves to your traps. It's efficiency.
- Mental Grit: These workouts are designed to be brutal. When you're mid-set and your lungs are burning, that's when the real work happens. You learn to push through 'I can't' to find your actual potential.
The Gear
We utilize a raw, unpretentious setup in Yamuna Vihar. You will work with heavy tractor tires for flips, battle ropes for endurance, sledgehammers for explosive power, and sleds that don't care how tired you are. Whether you are a pro athlete or someone looking to change your lifestyle, this space is for those willing to put in the effort. Gard rakh, get focused, and come ready to sweat.
