Fun Nutrition Activities for Kids & Families
Ditch the lectures and turn mealtime into a game. My Gut Set Go! journal helps your children build a healthy, curiosity-driven relationship with food through play, not pressure.
It brings me so much joy to see kids like this little one enjoying the "Gut, Set, Go!" journal. The book includes fun activities like 'Colour Bingo' to encourage eating a variety of fruits and vegetables.
About this collection
Most nutrition advice for kids feels like a lecture: eat this, don't eat that. I designed Gut Set Go! to flip that script completely. Using tools like Colour Bingo and interactive trackers, we move the conversation away from 'good' versus 'bad' food and toward curiosity and variety. It is not about restriction. It is about giving kids the agency to understand what goes on their plate and why it makes their body feel good.
When I started my journey as a clinical nutritionist, I noticed a significant gap. We treat nutrition as a set of rigid rules for adults, but for children, we often rely on enforcement. Gut Set Go! bridges that gap. It is a physical journal filled with activities, stickers, and recipe inserts that turn mealtime from a battlefield into an experiment.
We dive into essential concepts that parents often find challenging:
- Mindful Eating: Helping kids listen to their hunger cues rather than just cleaning their plates because they were told to.
- Food Literacy: Understanding where food comes from, whether it is a home-cooked pappu or a weekend treat.
- The Rainbow Plate: Using Colour Bingo to gamify the intake of varied vegetables and fruits, ensuring diverse nutrients without the power struggles.
This journal is primarily designed for children aged 8 to 12, but parents find it just as helpful. It is a resource for families who are tired of the 'no junk food' mentality and want to build a sustainable, joy-filled relationship with food instead. Whether you are in Bengaluru or across the country, this tool helps you bring the lessons from my clinical practice directly into your home kitchen.
Gauravi Vinay
I am Gauravi. I am a clinical nutritionist, but honestly, I am just a foodie who believes kids should not have to fear food or think of healthy eating as a chore. I created Gut Set Go! to take the stress out of mealtimes, replacing lectures with games, stickers, and genuine curiosity.
