Nutrition Myths Busted: Get The Facts, Skip The BS
Tired of hearing that carbs are evil or that you need a detox tea? I am here to clear the air with science, not trends. Let's separate the myths from the facts.
Let's clear up some BS. "Clean eating" doesn't make you morally superior, and your liver and kidneys are the only detox you need. Context matters more than food labels.
About this collection
The wellness world loves to tell you what to stop eating—no gluten, no dairy, no dinner after 7 PM. But here is the truth: your liver is perfectly capable of detoxing your body without a three-day juice cleanse, and your metabolism is not a clock that stops working after sunset. My approach is about restoring your relationship with food, not creating a list of rules that make you miserable.
Why Wellness Myths Stick
We see them everywhere. From social media influencers pushing 'detox' waters to gym bros insisting you must cut carbs to see results, the noise is overwhelming. These myths persist because they promise a quick fix. However, clinical nutrition isn't about restriction; it is about physiology.
The Reality of Modern Nutrition
When we dig into the science, we find that rigid rules often lead to burnout. Here is how I approach the common noise:
- The Detox Myth: You do not need expensive powders or juice fasts. Your body has built-in filtration systems—your liver and kidneys—that have been working 24/7 since you were born. They do not clock out.
- The Carb Problem: Carbs are not 'evil.' They are a primary energy source. The issue is usually processing and portioning, not the food group itself. We work on finding what fuels you best.
- Spot Reduction: You cannot decide where your body burns fat. That is genetic. We focus on strength and metabolic health rather than chasing a specific body type that might not be sustainable for you.
- Positive Vibes Only: Real wellness includes all emotions. Sometimes you feel sluggish, stressed, or unmotivated. That is human, not a failure of your diet.
My work as a clinical nutritionist in Bengaluru is to help you cut through this clutter. Whether we are discussing seed cycling for hormonal balance or simply learning how to eat a hearty meal without guilt, the goal is always the same: finding a sustainable, enjoyable way to nourish your body that fits your life, not a generic template found online.
