Developing young talent through the rigors and grace of the Lucknow Gharana. My approach combines technical precision with deep expressive storytelling for both solos and group productions.

I am so proud of my student, Ishani, seen here performing on stage. She secured the Second Position in her category at the Bal Kala Utsav National Level Competition.

My student Ishani, beaming with joy as she holds her certificate and trophy for winning Second Prize at the Bal Kala Utsav. Guiding young dancers on their journey is a deeply fulfilling part of my work.

A candid moment while I adjust a student's pose during a group rehearsal. Choreographing for groups involves creating formations and ensuring each dancer's movements are synchronized and expressive.

Here I am with a group of my students in their performance costumes. Seeing them ready to go on stage, filled with excitement and dedication, is a moment of great pride for me as their guru.

My students performing a group piece I choreographed for the 'Samarpana 2024' event. The choreography focuses on coordinated movements and expressive storytelling as a cohesive unit.

A synchronized pose from my students' group performance. Teaching them the importance of unity and precision on stage is a key part of my choreographic process for group dances.

Another vibrant performance by my students at 'Samarpana 2024'. I choreograph pieces that are age-appropriate and designed to build their confidence and skill as performers.

About Student Success & Group Choreography

Choreography for groups and competitions goes beyond memorizing steps. We focus on stage blocking, precise formations, and the emotional resonance of every gesture. My students typically require 5 to 8 structured sessions to build the confidence and technical polish needed for a successful stage performance.

My training philosophy is rooted in the Lucknow Gharana, where the focus is equally on Nritta (pure rhythm) and Abhinaya (storytelling).

Group Choreography & Formations

Designing for groups requires attention to visual symmetry and floor patterns. Whether you have four dancers or eight, I curate formations that ensure every performer looks balanced on stage. My process includes:

  • Stage Blocking: Adjusting movements to suit the specific stage dimensions and audience viewing angles.
  • Skill Adaptation: Modifying complex footwork to accommodate mixed skill levels, ensuring the group moves as one cohesive unit.
  • On-Site Rehearsals: Final run-throughs at the venue to check lighting and spacing.

Competition Preparation

Preparing for platforms like the Bal Kala Utsav requires more than technical skill. I work with students on their stage presence, teaching them how to maintain composure under the pressure of competition. We break down complex compositions—such as Parans and Tukdas—to ensure mathematical precision in their footwork while encouraging them to express the underlying emotions of the chosen piece.

Online & In-Person Training

For those unable to travel to my studios in Andheri West or Krishna Nagar, I offer online choreography capsules. These include five live, one-on-one sessions, alongside recorded practice videos provided in both front and back views for self-study. My goal is to ensure that every student, regardless of location, receives the same level of attention and guidance.

I believe that every student has a unique rhythm waiting to be discovered. Whether I am guiding a student through a competitive solo or designing a group formation, my goal is to pass on the Lucknow Gharana legacy with the same devotion my gurus taught me.
