It also includes professional recognitions I have been blessed to receive, such as my grading as a Doordarshan artist, which are a testament to my dedication to this art form.
Mythological Storytelling (Abhinaya)
My choreography often explores the rich tapestry of Indian mythology, bringing stories of gods and goddesses to life through abhinaya, the art of expression. This collection features pieces based on Krishna's leela, Radha's divine love, and the vibrant festival of Holi, showcasing how I use facial expressions, hand gestures, and movement to tell a compelling story.
Technical Choreography (Nritta)
This section is dedicated to Nritta, the pure dance aspect of Kathak, which emphasizes technical precision, complex rhythms, and graceful movements. Here you will find a variety of compositions like Parans, Todas, and Tukdas, set to different rhythmic cycles (taals) such as Teentaal, Dhamar, and Ektaal, showcasing the core vocabulary of the Lucknow Gharana.
Student Success & Group Choreography
I am deeply passionate about passing on the knowledge of Kathak to the next generation. This gallery showcases my work in choreographing group pieces and preparing students for national-level competitions. I am incredibly proud of my students' hard work and their achievements.
The Guru-Shishya Parampara
Everything I am as an artist is due to the blessings and teachings of my gurus, Pt. Birju Maharaj ji and Saswati Sen didi. This collection is a tribute to the sacred guru-shishya parampara (teacher-student tradition) that is the foundation of my art and my life.
