Featured Hand-Painted Custom Portraits
I transform your cherished memories into original oil and acrylic paintings. Whether it is a couple portrait, a family tribute, or a personal commission, I build every piece layer by layer to capture the emotion behind the photo.
This is why I paint. A friend commissioned this piece to capture a beautiful, candid moment between her parents at her wedding. My goal was to translate that pure emotion onto the canvas, creating a hyperrealistic oil painting that they can cherish forever.
Here I am with one of my largest commissions, a 5.5-foot portrait of Mr. Amit Shah. Creating large-scale statement pieces like this is a challenge I love, focusing on every detail to honor the subject. This piece is a testament to what's possible with oil on canvas.
I call this one "Smile, on the face of misery!". It took four weeks of intense work to complete, and it's one of my favorite character studies. It shows my passion for capturing raw, powerful expressions and creating truly unique, expressive portraits.
Turning a favorite photo into a hand-painted memory is what I do best. This custom couple portrait was a joy to create, focusing on the warm interaction and smiles to make a piece that feels alive and full of love.
This is a glimpse into my process. For this wedding portrait, I started by blocking in the colors and shapes from the reference photo, slowly building up layers to achieve a realistic and emotional final piece. Every portrait begins with this careful foundation.
This is the final oil on canvas portrait I created for Mr. Dinesh Lakhani, the Global Director of Kiran Gems. It showcases my ability to deliver professional, formal portraits for corporate leaders, capturing a sense of presence and accomplishment.
A little behind-the-scenes look from before I moved into my dedicated studio. This is my niece, who often made a cute appearance during my work-from-home photoshoots. It’s a reminder that art and life are always beautifully intertwined.
It was an incredible experience to exhibit my work at the India Art Festival. Being surrounded by art and connecting with fellow artists and art lovers was so inspiring. My commissions for 2025 are now open, let's create something beautiful together.
About Featured
If you are curious about the depth in my work, it comes down to a process called 'fat over lean'. I build every portrait slowly, starting with a foundational underpainting, followed by multiple layers of oil to capture skin tones and textures. Every piece is then finished with archival varnish, which protects the colors from dust and UV damage so your painting stays vibrant for generations.
My Approach to Custom Art
Painting is not just about copying a photo; it is about interpreting the emotion within it. When you commission a piece, I work closely with you to understand exactly what you want to capture, whether it is the warmth of a family hug or the dignity of a formal tribute. I specialise in realism and hyperrealism, spending anywhere from 65 hours to several weeks on a single canvas.
How We Work Together
- Consultation: We start with a 30-minute virtual call to align on your reference photo and vision.
- Process Updates: I do not believe in keeping you in the dark. I share my process, from the first sketch to the final stroke, so you can see your memory taking shape.
- Materials: I use fine-grain cotton canvas and professional-grade oils or acrylics. For larger, oversized pieces, I use seasoned wooden stretcher bars to ensure the structure never warps.
- Delivery: I am based in Mumbai and ship across India. Every painting is carefully packed with multi-layer acid-free paper, bubble wrap, and corrugated boxing to ensure it arrives safely at your door.
Commissions for 2025
My schedule fills up quickly because I limit my intake to ensure I can give my full attention to every canvas. Whether you are looking for a small 16x20 inch portrait or a massive 5-foot statement piece for your office, I am currently accepting requests. Let’s create something that you will want to look at every single day.

I am Palak, the artist behind Flourish Art. My studio is where I turn your favourite photos into original oil or acrylic paintings, obsessing over every little detail—from the glint in an eye to the texture of a saree. My niece often plays in the background, but when I am at the easel, it is just me, my paints, and your story coming to life.
