About this collection
I start every portrait by creating a digital draft to ensure the proportions and expressions are perfect before I touch the canvas. This keeps the likeness true to your photo while giving you the rich, tactile finish that only oil or acrylic paint can provide.
How We Work Together
When you commission a portrait, we aren't just making a painting. We are preserving a moment. My process is simple but thorough. We start by discussing the photo you have chosen—whether it is a current family picture, a couple’s portrait, or an old black-and-white photo you want brought to life in colour.
Once we have the reference, I create a digital draft to verify the composition. This allows us to make adjustments before the first stroke of paint hits the fine-grain cotton canvas.
The Materials & Finish
I use professional-grade oils and acrylics because they hold colour and stand the test of time.
- Surface: I work on double-primed cotton canvas to ensure vibrancy.
- Framing: Most portraits come pre-stretched in a gallery-wrap style, meaning the edges are painted and ready to hang without needing an extra frame.
- Protection: Every piece is finished with a double coat of non-yellowing varnish to protect against UV rays and dust.
Why Hand-Painted?
A digital print will never catch the light the way a palette knife texture or a brush stroke does. Whether it is the intricate details of a saree or the wisdom in an elder’s face, my goal is to make the portrait speak on its own. I share 3 work-in-progress updates throughout the project, so you see the layers building up from the initial sketch to the final reveal.
