For me, photography is an extension of my riyaaz (practice). It is not merely about looking good in a costume; it is about documenting the fleeting essence of a character or a rhythmic cycle. Whether we are shooting in the quiet corners of a Kerala heritage home or in a lush garden, the environment serves as an active partner in the storytelling process.

The Anatomy of a Portrait

• Environment & Texture: I prefer natural light and architectural settings that resonate with the classical roots of Kathak. This contrast creates a depth that studio lighting often misses.
• The Technicality of Pose: Even in a static image, the form must be correct. My background in the Jaipur Gharana ensures that the lines, the mudras (hand gestures), and the posture are technically sound, which differentiates these images from standard fashion photography.
• Expression (Abhinaya): The most important element is the eyes. I focus on conveying the specific emotion of a thumri or a bhajan, ensuring the image feels like a scene from a performance rather than a posed photo.
