I create sustainable, everyday items using natural pigments from marigolds, indigo, and sappanwood. Each piece is hand-dyed in Bengaluru, turning simple fabrics into unique, wearable art.

About Handmade with Nature: Our Products

When you choose a naturally dyed piece, remember that the colours evolve slightly over time, much like plants in nature. Because I use organic sources like marigolds and indigo, no two items are exactly identical. Every piece is washed, treated with natural mordants, and sun-dried, so expect subtle variations that prove it was made by hand, not a machine.

My process is rooted in patience. Unlike synthetic dyes that produce uniform, flat colours, natural dyeing relies on the chemistry of the earth. I source indigo for deep blues, marigold petals for vibrant yellows, and sappanwood for soft, earthy pinks.

The Art of Natural Dyeing

Each garment or notebook goes through a multi-day process. First, the fabric is pre-treated to hold the dye, then it is dipped into a dye bath. After rinsing and setting, it is dried in the sun. This is why you might see slight variations in shade or pattern—it is a result of the materials interacting naturally.

Products for Daily Life

  • Naturally Dyed Apparel: I focus on comfortable organic cotton, including oversized tees and kids' wear, which are gentle on the skin.
  • Handmade Notebooks: These are bound in tie-dyed fabric covers. They are ideal for journaling or as thoughtful return gifts for events and corporate gatherings.
  • Upcycled Pieces: I take older, pre-loved items and give them new life with botanical dyes, reducing textile waste in our landfills.

Care Instructions

To keep these colours vibrant for longer, treat your pieces with care. Hand wash them separately in cold water using a mild, pH-neutral soap. Keep them out of direct, harsh sunlight when drying. These simple steps ensure your piece ages gracefully.

I'm Kruthika. I started dyeing fabrics in my mother's kitchen using ingredients she’d rather I left alone. Now, I create these pieces to share that same tactile, messy joy of natural colours with you.
