About Meet the Instructor
When I step onto the mat, I am not just a coach but a student of the art myself. My 3rd Dan black belt and the Outstanding Instructor award are not just titles to display on a wall. They represent the rigorous discipline I demand from myself and the dedication I promise to every student who joins my academy. I believe that to teach effectively, one must never stop learning.
The Path of a Tiger
My journey in ITF Taekwondo is defined by one core principle: constant improvement. Becoming a 3rd Dan black belt took years of consistent practice, but it also taught me that the real test lies in passing that knowledge to the next generation.
Why Experience Matters
When you train with me at Delhi Tigers Taekwondo Academy on Najafgarh Road, you are not learning from a textbook. You are learning from an instructor who is actively involved in the sport:
- I Stay Active: I do not just instruct from the sidelines. I participate as an official in national championships, ensuring I understand the evolving standards of sparring and patterns (Tul).
- I Connect with Masters: I regularly seek guidance from international Grand Masters. Staying connected to the global Taekwondo community ensures our academy curriculum remains up to date.
- I Prioritize Form: I am strict about technique because a sloppy kick is a wasted effort. Whether it is self-defense or competitive sparring, we fix the stance first.
Teaching Philosophy
My students call me 'Sir,' but I see them as 'Tigers.' Whether you are a beginner looking to build fitness or a serious athlete aiming for a gold medal, my role is to identify your potential and push you past your perceived limits. I do not promise shortcuts; I promise results earned through hard work. Jai Guru Ji.
Delhi Tigers
I am Jayendra Puri, and I founded Delhi Tigers because I believe discipline and self-defense should be accessible to everyone. My academy is not about collecting fees; it is about seeing my students earn their belts through sweat, focus, and real technique.
