Creating matching outfits for siblings is always special. For this set, I designed a sky blue raw silk kurta with hand-embroidered details for the brother, and a coordinating red box-pleat gown with an embroidered off-shoulder detail for his sister.
Perfect for a Haldi ceremony, I designed these matching yellow crop top lehengas for two sisters. The outfits are made from a bright yellow organza with a traditional gold border, ensuring they look coordinated and festive.
About Outfits for Little Ones
I prioritize comfort above all else for my young clients. Every gown and lehenga I stitch comes with a soft, breathable cotton or crepe lining, ensuring no scratchy fabric touches their skin. Whether it is a frilly birthday dress or a traditional Pattu Langa, I design with plenty of room to move so they can play and be themselves while looking their best.
When designing for children, the balance between looking like a prince or princess and feeling comfortable is everything. I have spent years perfecting my process to ensure that my outfits are as practical as they are pretty.
My Approach to Kids' Occasion Wear
- Volume and Shape: For those dramatic ball gowns, I use quality net and layers of can-can to create that perfect princess silhouette. The volume is significant, but I ensure the internal structure doesn't weigh the child down.
- Traditional Roots: My Pattu Langas and Langa Davnis are designed for comfort. I use soft silks and ensure the box pleats or gathers are tailored to allow for easy movement during long poojas or ceremonies.
- Sibling Coordination: One of my favorite things to do is create matching sibling sets. Whether it is a brother-sister duo or two sisters needing Haldi outfits, I coordinate the fabrics and color palettes so they look unified without being identical.
- Upcycling Memories: Do you have an old Kanchi silk saree? I love transforming them into fresh, custom-stitched lehengas or Anarkali gowns for little ones. It is a wonderful way to pass down traditions.
