Menswear Direction and Cinematic Styling
I build menswear campaigns that move from static shots to a cinematic story, bridging modern tailoring with sharp character development.
A full look from the Dhruv Vaish campaign, shot in a historic stepwell. The layered grey and white ensemble stands out against the ancient stone, creating a look that is both modern and timeless.
Using depth of field to create a layered composition with two models. This shot for Dhruv Vaish plays with focus to create a sense of mystery and intrigue.
A motion shot that captures the fluid movement of the layered jacket. Even in menswear, I like to show how the garments move and live on the body.
A strong profile shot highlighting the sharp cut of the jacket and the subtle insect brooch, a key styling detail for this Dhruv Vaish look.
An intense portrait that captures the mood of the campaign. The casting and grooming were crucial to achieving this powerful, cinematic feel.
A minimalist portrait focusing on a single, delicate piece of jewelry. This shows my approach to accessorizing for men, which is often subtle but impactful.
About Menswear Direction
In this Dhruv Vaish shoot, we focused on how the clothing interacts with the environment, choosing a historic stepwell to ground the menswear in a timeless, architectural mood. I do not just focus on the cut of the fabric, but also on styling details like the insect brooch or the way a layered jacket catches the light to give every frame a cinematic weight.
My work in menswear is about finding the tension between traditional silhouettes and modern visual language. Whether the project calls for sharp, formal suiting or layered ethnic fusion, I start by developing a narrative that dictates the casting, location, and even the grooming. A successful campaign requires an understanding of how to make a model look powerful without appearing stiff, which is why I often prioritize motion shots that reveal the fabric’s fall and the wearer’s confidence. I collaborate closely with the crew to manage set design and prop placement, ensuring every element, from the historic architecture we scout to the specific jewelry pieces we select, adds to the story rather than distracting from the clothes. My goal is to produce visual assets that are not just clean, but truly evocative.
Devanshi Tuli
I treat every menswear campaign like a film scene, obsessing over the narrative before we even start. It is about building a world that feels grounded, whether we are working with sharp tailoring or fusion pieces, because your audience needs to feel the story, not just see the clothes.
