Our Process & Recognition in Architectural Design
We approach interior architecture as a rigorous dialogue between spatial planning, materiality, and light. Our recognized process focuses on conceptual clarity, where every design decision serves as a measured response to the client’s vision and the site’s unique constraints.
We are honored to have our work recognized by the Indian Institute of Interior Designers. Our 'Veiled Project' received the Zonal Winner and National Commendation awards, a testament to our team's commitment to pushing the boundaries of commercial design.
We are grateful to be included in Archello's list of the "25 best architecture firms in Mumbai." This recognition among our esteemed peers reinforces our dedication to contributing to the city's architectural landscape.
It is an honor to have our Tetracube Office project featured by Archilovers. This project explored geometric forms and light to create a dynamic yet functional workspace, and we are pleased to see it resonate with the global design community.
Our Vaulted Haus project was featured by the Australian design publication Habitus Living. We appreciate the platform for sharing our exploration of vaulted forms and robust materiality with an international audience.
We extend our thanks to Volume Zero for featuring the bar from our Vaulted Haus project. Their focus on the design's material narrative and architectural integration highlights the core principles that drive our work.
About this collection
Our design process begins not with aesthetics, but with a rigorous diagram of the site's potential. Whether we are engineering a vaulted ceiling to define volume or selecting heavy-duty granite to dictate circulation, our approach is always deliberate. We believe that true architectural value lies in the resolution of spatial challenges, which is why we meticulously document our process through precise GFC (Good for Construction) drawings, ensuring the final built environment mirrors the original conceptual intent.
Defining Our Methodology
Architecture, for us, is the art of balancing drama with restraint. When we approach a new project—be it a creative incubator or a retail space—we first establish a core 'big idea'. This concept acts as the anchor for all subsequent decisions, from floor layouts to lighting temperatures. Our process involves creating fluid, multi-zonal environments that encourage interaction while preserving the integrity of individual spaces.
Why Recognition Matters
Awards from bodies like the IIID, and features on platforms such as Archello, Archilovers, and Habitus Living, are significant to us because they validate our technical rigor. They confirm that our focus on sensory detailing—such as the texture of stone, the contrast of metal mesh, and the play of light—resonates beyond our immediate circle.
From Concept to Construction
Our workflow is defined by:
- Conceptual Mapping: We define brand-aligned themes and spatial strategies early, using architectural interventions like level changes to influence flow.
- Technical Documentation: We provide precise CAD documentation for non-standard elements, including motorized mechanisms and custom lighting systems.
- Site Supervision: We conduct weekly architectural inspections to ensure that on-site execution aligns with our diagrammatic intent. We verify material mockups under varying light conditions to guarantee the final finish meets our standards.
By treating the design process as a sequence of solvable problems rather than mere decoration, we aim to deliver spaces that are functionally sound and intellectually stimulating.
DIG Architects
We are DIG Architects. Our studio is built on the belief that a space should provoke thought, slow the pace of life, and reflect the identity of the people within it. We thrive on collaborative, concept-first design, where the resolution of complex spatial problems leads to spaces that are both functional and deeply evocative.
