Creative Incubator Interior Design and Spatial Planning
We design fluid, multi-zonal environments that balance community interaction with focused work, using raw materials to shape human experience.
This wide view of the 'Chasing Tales' incubator captures the essence of our design: an open, fluid space with clearly defined functional zones. The elevated stage area provides a focal point, while breakout spaces and reading nooks are integrated along the periphery for quieter activities.
The café and lounge area is designed with warm leather seating and minimalist tables to encourage informal meetings and social connections. The open layout ensures a constant visual link to the rest of the dynamic co-working environment, promoting a sense of community.
A closer look at the café bar reveals our focus on materiality and clean lines. The design combines wood, concrete textures, and a woven cane screen to create a welcoming yet sophisticated service point that anchors the social hub of the workspace.
The central zone of our 'Chasing Tales' project was conceived as a versatile stage for community engagement. Here, it is configured for a live performance, demonstrating the space's capacity to transform from a co-working area into a vibrant venue for cultural events.
Demonstrating its functional flexibility, the central multi-purpose zone is shown here converted into a professional photography studio. The adaptable lighting grid and expansive wooden floor provide a neutral, functional backdrop for creative productions.
We designed this creative incubator to be a fluid environment that fosters both collaboration and individual focus. This view shows how different activities can coexist harmoniously, with a dedicated music and recording area flowing into a quiet reading nook.
This versatile corner, enclosed by foldable glass partitions, functions as a semi-private meeting room or recording studio. It offers acoustic separation when needed but can be opened up to integrate with the main space, embodying our commitment to adaptable workspace design.
About this collection
This project demonstrates how we use a monochrome palette and industrial grid ceilings to unify diverse activities. From the café entrance to the acoustic reading nooks, the layout allows the space to function as a yoga studio, photography set, or meeting hub without structural changes. We manage these multi-functional transitions through precise zoning plans and concealed acoustic buffers.
We start every project by establishing a dialogue between distinct zones. In this creative incubator, we wanted a café that invites visitors, a stage that supports performance, and pods that ensure privacy. The primary challenge involved maintaining visual connectivity while addressing the acoustic separation required for varied uses like recording sessions and team meetings. We addressed this by installing semi-transparent partitions and utilizing foldable glass systems that provide acoustic control without isolating the user.
The materiality is fundamental to our process. We paired honed Chiku limestone flooring with lime-plastered walls to create a tactile environment. The deep grey ceiling acts as a continuous datum, allowing the industrial lighting grid to anchor the space. Every element, from the vintage cassette tape feature wall to the sensory details of the flooring, is placed to elicit a sensory response. This incubator is designed to slow the pace, encouraging users to engage with their surroundings and each other.
Our approach involves rigorous technical detailing. We coordinate reflected ceiling plans to manage MEP systems within the open-ceiling structure, ensuring the aesthetic intent remains clean. By specifying materials like Indian Patent Stone and lime plaster, we prioritize durability for high-traffic commercial zones while maintaining a consistent design language. We conduct weekly site inspections to verify that material mockups and lighting temperatures align with the original diagrammatic vision.
