Kabaddi is not just about muscle power; it requires a flexible body and a calm mind. We incorporate these yoga drills into our routine to ensure every athlete stays injury-free.

A handstand is not just a physical exercise; it builds core strength, improves balance, and increases blood flow to the brain, helping with focus and concentration.

This is the Mayurasana, or Peacock Pose. It is an advanced yoga posture that strengthens the arms and shoulders, improves digestion, and detoxifies the body.

My players practicing Trikonasana, or Triangle Pose. This asana stretches the legs, hips, and spine, which is excellent for increasing flexibility and preventing groin injuries in Kabaddi.

The Vakasana, or Crow Pose, is a powerful arm-balancing posture. It builds immense strength in the wrists, arms, and shoulders, which is beneficial for defenders executing holds and blocks.

A guide to the do's and don'ts of Uttanasana, or Standing Forward Fold. This pose is fantastic for stretching the hamstrings and back muscles, helping to relieve tension after a hard training session.

A glimpse of our large-scale Yoga Day program at the academy. We believe in the collective power of yoga to build a healthy and focused community of athletes.

Our players participating in a guided yoga session. Discipline and unity are values we practice both on and off the Kabaddi ground.

Players in Savasana, or Corpse Pose, for deep relaxation after a yoga session. Rest and recovery are as important as the training itself for peak performance.

About Yoga for Flexibility & Focus

Don't treat yoga as just a cooldown. At our Shadipur ground, we use specific asanas like Trikonasana for hip health and Vakasana for arm strength, which directly prevent the injuries I see most often in Kabaddi. If you want to last longer in a match, these drills are just as important as your tire flips.

Most people think Kabaddi is only about brute force. Real players know that flexibility is the secret to escaping a tackle. In my academy, we treat yoga as a critical part of sports performance. We do not do generic sessions; every pose we practice serves a specific purpose on the mud mat. For instance, we focus on Trikonasana to keep the hips loose and prevent common groin strains that can put a player out for months. We practice Vakasana to build the wrist and shoulder stability needed for a solid block or a powerful dash. When we do Uttanasana, it is not just about touching your toes; it is about stretching the hamstrings to recover faster after a high-intensity session. By including these in our daily schedule, we ensure that our students are not just strong, but agile and ready to handle the physical demands of the game. Whether you are a raider needing speed or a defender needing rock-solid stability, these sessions will help you stay on the field and out of the physio room.
