My Musical Journey: Candid Moments and Reflections

About Candid Moments & Reflections
Before every performance, there is the silent, essential work—the hours of riyaz and the precise tuning of my tabla that happens long before the audience arrives. These photos capture the moments between the notes, where the music really lives. Whether you are planning an intimate baithak or a large-scale jugalbandi, I treat every setting as a space to share this tradition. Let’s connect to discuss how we can bring the right rhythm to your event.
Music is a constant presence in my life, far beyond the confines of the concert stage. My journey is rooted in the Farukhabad Gharana, and every photograph here reflects that dedication—the focus during a solo performance, the deep respect during a jugalbandi, and even the simple joys of life away from the instrument.
When I perform at venues like the Kamani Auditorium or G.D. Birla Sabhaghar, my priority is always the sound—the clarity of the Dayan and the deep, resonant bass of the Bayan. But the real magic often happens in the smaller spaces, the private baithaks where the connection between the musician and the audience is palpable.
My work spans from supporting vocalists and sarod players to providing the rhythmic foundation for Kathak dancers. If you are looking to host an event, my approach is adaptable. I work closely with sound teams to ensure the acoustics are balanced, whether it is a small gathering or a grand stage. Every rhythm I play is a tribute to my Guruji, Pandit Subhankar Banerjee, and I carry that responsibility into every session. Tabla is my sadhana, a daily practice that connects me to my roots in the Farukhabad Gharana. Whether I am playing at an intimate home concert or a large-scale event, I aim to create a space where the rhythm feels like home.
