Weapons Training: Shaolin Staff and Eskrima
Master the discipline of weapon handling. I teach Shaolin staff and Dacayana Eskrima systems, focusing on precision, footwork, and repetitive drills.

This is from my training diary in Toledo, Philippines, the home of Dacayana Eskrima. Here I am practicing the 12 basic strikes, a foundational drill for single-stick fighting that builds precision and flow.

About Weapons Training: Eskrima & Staff
Weapon training is not about fancy movements. Whether you are using a rattan stick or the Shaolin staff, we start with your stance and footwork. If your foundation is weak, your strike will lack power. You will drill the 12 basic strikes of Eskrima and the foundational postures of Shaolin repeatedly until they become instinct, ensuring your body weight stays balanced for every movement.
At my school in Shahpur Jat, weapons training is treated with the same intensity as empty-hand combat. You are learning tools for focus, balance, and practical defense. My approach is simple: I break down complex systems into manageable steps.
Shaolin Staff
The staff is a foundational weapon that teaches you to move your entire body as one unit. We focus on grip, angles, and the rotation of the torso. It is excellent for developing coordination and physical strength that translates directly into empty-hand fighting.
Dacayana Eskrima
I bring the system I learned in the Philippines directly to my students. This is not for show. We cover:
- The 12 Strikes: You will learn these until they are ingrained in your muscle memory.
- Knife Defense: We practice close-quarter drills that emphasize reaction speed over brute force.
- Footwork: You cannot strike effectively if you are standing still. We drill the patterns that keep you elusive and powerful.
My classes are for anyone willing to put in the time. There is no shortcut. You show up, you listen, and you drill. Zindagi jeenay kay liye hai. Jiyo aur jineenay doh. (Life is for living. Live and let live.)
