Fielding Drills & Agility Training for Female Cricketers
In modern cricket, a sharp fielder is just as valuable as a big hitter. Our agility drills teach you to read the game, stay low, and attack every ball.
A modern-day cricketer needs to be an excellent fielder first. Here, our athlete Yashvi is going through a tough ground fielding session. We teach our players to be attacking in the field, stay low to the ground, and expect every ball to come their way.
This is the attitude we look for. This 15-year-old athlete is only on her third day of training with us, but her willingness to dive around and commit to every ball is exceptional. We believe a player's energy and effort in the field are just as important as their primary skill.
About Fielding & All-Round Fitness
Most players think fielding is just about reflexes, but here, we treat it like a batting stance. You need to be comfortable getting dirty. We put our athletes through ground-specific drills where the focus is on staying low and attacking the ball, because saving five runs is often the difference between winning a selection trial and going home.
Fielding is often the forgotten part of cricket training, but it is exactly where matches are won or lost. Whether you are a batter looking to improve your overall fitness or a specialist fielder, you need to be able to predict where the ball is going before it is hit.
At our Dombivli academy, we don't just throw balls and ask you to catch them. We run high-intensity agility sessions designed to prepare you for the pressures of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) selection trials. We focus on the basics: the initial burst of speed, the low-center-of-gravity pick-up, and the accuracy of the throw.
Why Fielding Matters for Your Career
- Match Awareness: We teach you to expect every ball to come your way. You cannot afford to switch off.
- Physical Resilience: Using our astro turf facility, we push you to dive and slide safely, building the confidence to throw your body behind the ball.
- The 'Attacking' Mindset: We train you to save runs, not just stop them. This proactive approach is what selectors look for when picking squads for U15, U19, and U23 levels.
We work with girls of all ages and experience levels. If you are serious about playing state-level cricket, you need to be fit enough to last the entire 50 overs on the field, and that starts with the drills we run in these sessions.
Cricket Explained
I’m Hrishikesh. We don’t just watch cricket here; we live it. When I train a girl for the field, I’m not just teaching her to catch a ball—I’m teaching her to take ownership of her performance. If you are willing to sweat, dive, and do the hard work, you will fit right into our squad.
