Matches are won by the team that stays sharp for every over. Our fitness and fielding program focuses on the agility, stamina, and reactions required to perform on the field.

A quick look at our all-weather training. From indoor nets to outdoor fitness and running drills, our players are always working to get better.

Running and agility drills are a fundamental part of our fitness program. Quick feet and fast sprints are essential for running between the wickets and cutting off runs in the field.

Agility drills in action. These exercises improve a player's balance, coordination, and ability to change direction quickly, which is crucial for fielding.

Sprints and running drills on the outdoor ground. We build the stamina that allows our players to perform at their peak throughout a long match.

Our players doing sprints in the Mumbai monsoon. This builds not just physical endurance but also the mental toughness to train in any condition.

"Ball ko dekho" (Watch the ball). A coach leading a high-intensity catching practice session. Sharp reflexes and safe hands are built through repetition.

A coach running a catching drill with a group of young players. Simple commands and constant practice are key to developing reliable fielders.

Fielding practice on the main ground. A coach hits high catches to test the players' judgment and technique under pressure.

Core strength and conditioning are vital. Here, our players are going through a series of push-up variations and plank exercises to build a strong foundation.

Group fitness drills on the field. Working together in these tough sessions builds camaraderie and pushes everyone to give their best.

About The Grind: Fitness & Fielding Drills

We do not train on polished gym floors. Our fitness sessions happen right here on the ground, rain or shine. You will deal with uneven surfaces and unpredictable bounces, which is exactly how a real match tests your movement. It is not about looking good while lifting weights. It is about building the specific endurance required to sprint, dive, and stay alert until the final ball of the day.

Building Cricket-Specific Fitness

Cricket is a game of endurance, not just power. Many players focus only on batting or bowling, but the real advantage lies in your ability to cut off singles, take catches under pressure, and stay fresh during long innings. Our drills are designed to bridge the gap between being a net player and a match-ready athlete.

Why Fielding Drills Matter

Fielding is the most neglected part of a cricketer's training. We prioritize high-intensity catching practice and agility work to build fast hands and quick reflexes. We use local, open grounds to simulate real-world conditions where the ball reacts differently to dirt, grass, and uneven soil. You will learn to:

  • Anticipate movement: Use your eyes to track the ball early.
  • Improve reaction time: Sharp drills to ensure you don't drop those crucial catches.
  • Master agility: Sprints and ladder work to ensure you reach the ball faster.

Our Training Approach

Our approach is grounded in the reality of Mumbai cricket. We conduct training during the monsoon and the heat of summer because the game does not stop for weather. Whether you are working on your dive, your speed between the wickets, or your throwing arm, you will be doing it in an environment that pushes you to work harder. We focus on consistent 'mehnat' (hard work) over short bursts of motivation. If you are serious about improving your fielding technique and physical conditioning, this is where you start.

I grew up in a humble home, so I know that talent needs a solid body to support it. I don't believe in shortcuts or fancy equipment. I believe in showing up every day and putting in the work, just like I did to reach the IPL.
