Intensive Fielding Drills for Competitive Cricket

Fielding is often the difference between winning and losing. At our Lonavala ground, we run high-intensity drills to build the agility, reflex speed, and grit needed to save every run.

Fielding at our academy is not just a drill, it is a mindset. This session captures the high energy of our training, with players executing running catches, quick ground fielding, and full-effort dives to save every run.

A look at a full-ground fielding session in progress at our Lonavala facility. Players are spread out across the field, practicing long-distance throws and covering ground, which is crucial for match-day performance.

Our coaches lead by example. Here, a coach demonstrates the correct throwing technique during a fielding session, ensuring players understand the biomechanics of a powerful and accurate throw.

About this collection

Most academies treat fielding as a simple warm-up. Here, it is a primary, standalone session. We do not just throw balls at you; we simulate match-day pressure using our full-size turf wickets at the Lonavala facility. You will be tired, sore, and sweating, but you will also learn to anticipate the ball before it leaves the bat. If you are looking for a casual knock-about, this is not it.

We believe fielding defines a cricketer's intensity. While batters and bowlers often grab the headlines, a sharp fielder is what secures championships. Our Lonavala facility allows us to train on a full-size ground rather than cramped city nets, which means we can work on long-distance throws, backing up, and high-catch positioning without constraints.

Our sessions focus on three technical pillars:

  • Ground Fielding & Diving: Learning to get low and stop balls cleanly using proper footwork. We focus on technique to prevent injury while maximizing reach.
  • High-Catch Techniques: Reading flight and depth perception. We track the ball through the air to develop the focus needed for clean catches.
  • Throwing Mechanics: Developing a powerful, accurate arm. We work on the biomechanics of the throw to ensure power comes from the core, not just the shoulder.

This is not just theory. Whether you join our 7-day residential camp or attend a local session, you follow the same rigorous routine that our coaches—who have worked with the Gujarat Giants—enforce at the professional level. It is about building muscle memory so that in a real match, you do not think about the technique; you just act. We push you to dive, track, and cover the ground efficiently.
