See how aspiring designers turn ideas into reality. From sketches to finished collections, our members and interns use our Mysore studio to craft conscious, sustainable fashion.

We are so proud to witness the work of our talented interns. This graphic showcases the beautiful and diverse creations of Hamii and Harshini, who explored different natural dyeing and printing techniques during their time with us.

Meet Amrutha, a textile design student who created her menswear collection, 'AquaMen Ensemble,' during her internship. Inspired by water conservation, she used hand painting with natural dyes to tell a powerful story through her designs.

We host artists in residence like Sunny, a textile artist who spent ten days with us exploring natural dyes and surface application techniques. Art becomes a universal language here, connecting people from different backgrounds through the shared act of making.

Our internships are designed to be a transformative first step into the professional world. We provide a platform for students like Amrutha to not just learn, but to design and manifest a full collection, culminating in a celebration of their work.

Hand painting is a favorite technique among our interns, offering a meditative way to connect with natural colors. Here is a look at Amrutha's work, recreating traditional motifs from around the world on organic cotton.

Many creative journeys begin right here at Color Ashram. We love watching artists and designers like Priyal explore their potential, experiment with new skills, and grow into their own unique style.

Our interns often describe their time here as magical. Abigail shares her experience of learning dyeing, extraction, printing, and embroidery in our homely, supportive atmosphere, which inspired her to create work with a positive impact.

About this collection

You don't learn by just watching here; you build. Our mentorship approach is about taking your raw concept—like Amrutha’s 'AquaMen' menswear line—and figuring out the dye recipes, fabric sourcing, and stitching logistics right in our Hebbal makerspace. Whether you are a student or an entrepreneur, you get access to the same industrial gas stoves and 20ft printing tables we use, so you can stop practicing and start producing.

Mentorship Over Monologue

When you join our studio, we don't just hand you a manual. We work with you on design feasibility, helping you translate a sketch into a wearable piece. Our interns and members treat this space as their professional launchpad. Because we host a mix of hobbyists, travelers, and design students, you are constantly swapping techniques—be it eco-printing, indigo vats, or surface application.

Access the Infrastructure

Theory is easy, but natural dyeing is messy and equipment-heavy. That is why we provide the full setup in our Hebbal space. You get:

  • The Color Lab: Access to standardized natural dye pastes and mordants.
  • Production Space: 20ft padded tables for block and screen printing.
  • The Drying Yard: Shaded outdoor lines for finishing your textiles.
  • Mentorship: Guidance on supply chain networking, stitching, and finishing garments.

Moving From Concept to Collection

We love seeing our students grow. Take Jaini, who joined us for her graduation project, or Amrutha, who built an entire collection focused on water conservation. They didn't just learn a technique; they built a body of work. If you have a vision for a sustainable collection and need the space, tools, and community to make it happen, our studio is open. Come for a day of studio access or sign up for a monthly membership to build your brand.
