See how aspiring designers turn ideas into reality. From sketches to finished collections, our members and interns use our Mysore studio to craft conscious, sustainable fashion.

We are so proud to witness the work of our talented interns. This graphic showcases the beautiful and diverse creations of Hamii and Harshini, who explored different natural dyeing and printing techniques during their time with us.

Meet Amrutha, a textile design student who created her menswear collection, 'AquaMen Ensemble,' during her internship. Inspired by water conservation, she used hand painting with natural dyes to tell a powerful story through her designs.

We host artists in residence like Sunny, a textile artist who spent ten days with us exploring natural dyes and surface application techniques. Art becomes a universal language here, connecting people from different backgrounds through the shared act of making.

Our internships are designed to be a transformative first step into the professional world. We provide a platform for students like Amrutha to not just learn, but to design and manifest a full collection, culminating in a celebration of their work.

Hand painting is a favorite technique among our interns, offering a meditative way to connect with natural colors. Here is a look at Amrutha's work, recreating traditional motifs from around the world on organic cotton.

Many creative journeys begin right here at Color Ashram. We love watching artists and designers like Priyal explore their potential, experiment with new skills, and grow into their own unique style.

Our interns often describe their time here as magical. Abigail shares her experience of learning dyeing, extraction, printing, and embroidery in our homely, supportive atmosphere, which inspired her to create work with a positive impact.

Jaini, a design student from NID, joined us for her graduation project to combine product design with natural dyes. She describes our space as peaceful and friendly, the perfect environment for mindful, creative work.

About From Spark to Collection: Member & Intern Journeys

You don't learn by just watching here; you build. Our mentorship approach is about taking your raw concept—like Amrutha’s 'AquaMen' menswear line—and figuring out the dye recipes, fabric sourcing, and stitching logistics right in our Hebbal makerspace. Whether you are a student or an entrepreneur, you get access to the same industrial gas stoves and 20ft printing tables we use, so you can stop practicing and start producing.
