Real Health Talk: Conversations from the Streets of Bengaluru
I hit the streets of Indiranagar to see how we are actually handling our health. From quick fitness ratings to real advice on sleep and eating, here is the unfiltered truth about our daily habits.
I ran into Netra on the street and put her to the test with my 10-finger health quiz. It was so inspiring to see someone who is already practicing so many healthy habits in her daily life. Her score was almost a perfect 10!
Here’s another fun interaction with Fabiana, who took on our health rating challenge. It's a quick and easy way to self-assess your daily habits, from step count to whether you're eating your fruits and veggies. How would you score?
I met this wonderfully energetic woman on the streets of Indiranagar, and her advice was simple yet profound: take things positively, eat on time, and sleep on time. It’s a reminder that the fundamentals of health are timeless.
As the year comes to a close, I went out to ask people about their health resolutions. It was great to hear about their goals and achievements. This is part one of a series where we talk to people about what they're doing to improve their health.
About this collection
When I challenge people on the street with my '10-finger health quiz', the thing that surprises me most is that wellness is rarely about a heavy gym session. It is almost always about the basics: consistent meal times, actually reading the nutrition labels on what you buy, and prioritizing sleep. Almost everyone I meet who feels perpetually tired is skipping these fundamentals, not because they lack willpower, but because they are overcomplicating the science. Real change happens when you fix these daily non-negotiables, not when you cut out entire food groups.
Why I take the conversation to the streets
We often think health is a complex puzzle that requires expensive supplements or celebrity-endorsed diets. My street interviews prove the opposite. Most of the people I talk to—whether they are students, professionals, or retirees—already know what they should be doing. They just need a nudge to stop overthinking and start doing.
The '10-Finger' Reality Check
My quick health rating scale isn't about shaming anyone. It is a reality check. We close fingers for things like 'skipping breakfast' or 'ordering out twice a week' because these are the subtle leaks in our energy levels.
- Consistent Timing: Your body craves rhythm. Eating lunch and dinner at the same time every day does more for your metabolism than the latest superfood fad.
- Label Literacy: If you cannot read the ingredients or if there are 20 items you don't recognize, put it back. My coaching clients often find that just switching their grocery list makes their health scores jump without ever stepping foot in a gym.
- Movement as Joy: If you hate the gym, don't go. Walk, dance, or do desk yoga. As I tell my corporate clients, movement shouldn't feel like a punishment for what you ate.
Moving from 'Talking' to 'Doing'
If you have been watching these videos and relating to the struggles—feeling tired, inconsistent sleep, or confusion about nutrition—you don't have to figure it out alone. Whether you are dealing with a specific condition like Diabetes or PCOS, or just want to feel more energetic during your workday, I help you apply these basic principles to your specific blood work and lifestyle.
No guesswork, no starving, and definitely no boring lectures. Just practical science that fits into your life in Bengaluru, whether you are a corporate professional or a busy parent.
