Thoughtful Architecture and Interior Spaces
We believe architecture is about people, places, and purpose. From mountain lodges to urban dining, our projects are crafted through hands-on collaboration, local materials, and a deep respect for the land.
This is the heart of our Himalayan project, a space designed for quiet contemplation. We used local stone for the walls and fireplace to create a deep connection to the Kumaon landscape, crafting a warm, inviting lodge where guests can truly slow down and soak in the mountain views.
Our guesthouses in Uttarakhand are designed to feel like a natural extension of the Himalayan terrain. We used locally sourced stone and thatch for the roofs, creating simple, elegant structures that sit gently on the land, offering unobstructed views of the Panchachuli peaks.
In Zanzibar, we designed this spa to be an open-air sanctuary with an uninterrupted view of the ocean. A local craftsman puts the finishing touches on the deck as the sun sets, capturing the hands-on, collaborative spirit that brings our tropical architecture projects to life.
For the Otra restaurant in Mumbai, we created a moody and intimate atmosphere. This booth features deep green leather and textured walls, with carefully controlled lighting to craft a dramatic dining experience that feels like a world away from the city outside.
At Villa Toshi, we worked to dissolve the boundaries between the building and its surroundings. The result is a landscape that consumes the architecture, with lush rooftop gardens and water bodies that create a private, verdant oasis overlooking the Alibaug canopy.
Building in the Himalayas is a team effort. Here, our team is on site in Uttarakhand, collaborating with local artisans to lay out the foundations. This hands-on process is essential to our work, ensuring every detail is considered right on the ground.
Every detail matters in creating a unique experience. For the Americano restaurant in Mumbai, we designed and commissioned this bespoke door handle, crafted from brass with a custom curve that provides a distinct tactile welcome for every guest.
We are honored to be included in the AD100 list again. This recognition is a testament to our entire team's passion and the collaborative relationships we build with clients and craftspeople to bring our shared vision for thoughtful, well-crafted spaces to life.
About Featured
We do not just draft from a desk. Our process happens on-site, where we build full-scale mock-ups to test light, texture, and how a structure breathes with its surroundings. Whether we are in the high Himalayas or a dense Mumbai alley, we work directly with local artisans and materials to ensure the design feels inevitable, not just added on.
Architecture is an exercise in listening. Before we draw a single line, we spend time on site to understand the landscape, the wind, and the path of the sun. This approach applies to everything we touch, whether it is a sprawling eco-lodge in the mountains or a compact restaurant interior in the city.
Our Process
Our design philosophy is rooted in material honesty. We favor stone, reclaimed timber, lime, and uncoated brass because these materials age gracefully and hold the character of the place. We manage the full lifecycle of a project, from masterplanning and structural engineering to the finer details like hand-crafted door handles and custom joinery.
Collaboration
We operate as a collective of architects, designers, and artisans. For us, a successful project relies on the input of the people who build it as much as those who design it. We regularly coordinate with local craftspeople to solve construction challenges on the ground. This eliminates the gap between the vision and the reality of the finished space.
Sustainability
We build for the long term. This means designing for passive cooling, using local building techniques to handle extreme weather like snow or monsoon rain, and integrating renewable energy where it makes sense. We want our buildings to feel like they belong to the terrain, providing comfort while minimizing impact on the environment.
Case Design
We are a Mumbai-based studio that creates spaces by getting our hands dirty. We spend as much time on-site as we do at the drawing board, collaborating with local craftspeople to ensure every wall, floor, and fixture serves a purpose.
