Context-Sensitive Architectural Design and Interiors
My work is a search for symbols that mirror the life around you. This collection represents a continuous dialogue between the land, our material logic, and the archetypal forms we strive to build.
This conceptual video visualizes a pavilion on the banks of the Yamuna river. The design explores the interplay of light and shadow through a series of contemporary concrete arches, a formal nod to Mughal architecture, creating a serene space for reflection that is deeply connected to its historical context.
The Hamsa Resort in Manali features a modern glass and steel facade that reflects the surrounding Himalayan peaks. This design choice creates a direct visual dialogue between the structure and its environment, while the building itself incorporates traditional Kathkuni construction principles.
At the Evoo restaurant in Gurugram, the open kitchen is framed as a stage for culinary performance. The structure of exposed concrete and steel defines the space, creating an industrial aesthetic that complements the modern Italian dining experience.
The interior of the Gaurav Gupta couture store in New Delhi was conceived as a sculpted cavern. Raw concrete walls and strategically placed mirrors create a dramatic, gallery-like environment where the fashion pieces are displayed as artifacts.
This video shows the evolution of a 3D printed model for a spiral staircase. It demonstrates my process of moving from a digital concept to a physical prototype, a critical step in testing the structural and aesthetic logic of complex forms.
This visualization shows a hotel project in Kashmir, set against its snowy, mountainous landscape. The design reinterprets the vernacular Dhajji Dewari, a timber-braced frame technique, to create a modern, resilient structure that is authentic to its location.
I was honored to be named Architect of the Year at the India Design 2024 awards. This video captures the moment I received the award from Pritzker Laureate Peter Zumthor, a recognition of my practice's dedication to meaningful architecture.
About Featured
Architecture is not merely the construction of a site. It is a process of discovery. Before a single brick is laid, we engage in a rigorous investigation of form and light. This includes 3D printing complex models and handcrafting timber prototypes to test structural integrity and how light behaves on surfaces. When you see our work, you are seeing the result of these material tests.
Our practice is built on the belief that one cannot convert a generalized understanding directly into a proposal. Instead, we must search for values that suit a particular situation.
The Process of Construction
We do not rush. Our workflow begins with research and sketching, progressing to digital models, and finally to physical prototyping. This methodology allows us to resolve technical details, from shuttering plans for concrete walls to the reflected ceiling plans for lighting design, before construction begins.
Material Integrity
We prioritize raw, honest materials. Exposed concrete, steel, and timber are not just finishes, but structural decisions. At the Evoo restaurant in Gurugram, we utilized exposed concrete and steel to create an industrial aesthetic that frames the kitchen as a stage. In our retail design for Gaurav Gupta, we sculpted a cave-like space from concrete, allowing the fashion pieces to stand out as objects in a gallery.
Contextual Vernacular
Architecture must exist in harmony with its climate and heritage. In our Kashmir projects, we have reinterpreted Dhajji Dewari—a traditional timber-laced stonework—to create structures that are seismically resilient and authentic to the region. Similarly, at the Hamsa Resort in Manali, we integrated Kathkuni construction principles, using interlocked wood and stone to ensure the building responds to its Himalayan setting.
We design for clients who value architecture that is deeply rooted in its place and built with material logic.
