Urban Restaurant Interior Design in Mumbai
We design hospitality spaces that focus on atmosphere, mood, and how light interacts with raw, honest materials.

The powder room at Otra, where we used a rich, earthy red plaster on the walls and a hand-carved stone sink. The custom mirror and bespoke light fixtures add to the moody, dramatic atmosphere of the space.

About Urban Dining Experiences: Mumbai
The quality of a dining space often lives in small, tactile moments, such as the weight of a hand-carved door handle, the specific texture of plaster on a wall, or how the acoustics shift when the room fills with people. We build full-scale mock-ups of these details on site to test how they feel in real-world lighting, ensuring every touchpoint adds to the mood of the restaurant.
Designing for a high-intensity environment like a Mumbai restaurant requires more than just a layout. It is about balancing commercial flow with the intimacy required for a memorable meal. Our process begins with a study of the site, observing the natural light and the local landscape before we finalize any plans.
We rely on honest materials to define our interiors. Solid teak, brass, lime plaster, and stone form the backbone of our projects. We do not hide the natural character of these elements. Instead, we work with local craftsmen to highlight their textures. For Otra in Kala Ghoda, this meant creating deep green facades and textured red plaster walls to establish a speakeasy atmosphere.
A restaurant is a partnership. We work closely with chefs to understand the service flow and how the kitchen connects to the dining floor. Every detail, from the height of a banquette seat to the glare on a table surface, is adjusted to suit the rhythm of the restaurant.
By building full-scale mock-ups on site, we take the guesswork out of the final interior architecture. Whether we are crafting custom lighting fixtures for a bar or designing the joinery for an entrance, we ensure the fit and finish meet our standards. This hands-on approach allows us to refine the design as the space evolves, creating an environment that feels lived-in from the first day of opening.
