About Themed Dessert Tables & Treats
If you are planning a dessert table, think about your guest count and variety. While twelve different cookie designs look amazing in photos, ordering 3-4 varied designs repeated in batches is often more cost-effective and creates a cleaner visual impact for your event setup.
When you choose a themed dessert table, you are essentially asking for a cohesive visual story. Whether it is a Fairy Garden setup with matching cakesicles and floral donuts, or a Beatles-themed spread with submarine-shaped treats, my goal is to make every item feel like part of the same narrative.
I often work with clients who bring me a mix of abstract ideas. For instance, a recent client wanted cookies representing concepts like 'peace' and 'IPL match'. This is where my process begins. I take those prompts and figure out how to represent them using royal icing on a limited cookie surface. It is a technical challenge that I genuinely enjoy.
My approach to these tables is to mix textures and types. A great table has height and variety, which is why I often suggest combining a centerpiece cake with supporting treats like cupcakes, cakesicles, and hand-painted cookies. This variety ensures there is something for everyone, not just visually but in terms of flavor and bite.
Everything is prepared at my studio in Malleswaram. Because these items are delicate, especially the painted cookies and fondant toppers, I always recommend pickup via a car with the AC on.
