About this collection
I do not use fondant. All these vintage-style details—the ruffles, the swags, and the heart shapes—are hand-piped using buttercream. This means the texture is softer and the flavour is consistent, but it does require careful handling during transport. If you have a specific colour palette in mind, let me know, and we can match the buttercream tones accordingly.
My vintage heart cakes are all about that retro aesthetic. I use the Lambeth method to create those dense, layered ruffles, scrolls, and shell borders you see in the gallery. Whether you want a monochromatic look, like a soft sage green or classic white, or a duo-tone pastel finish, the design is fully customisable.
I focus entirely on flavour-first celebration cakes. While fondant might offer a smoother finish, I prefer the taste and mouthfeel of high-quality buttercream. This is why you will see my vintage designs finished with fresh, glossy cherries, satin ribbons, or even edible gold leaf accents instead of heavy sugar paste.
Every heart-shaped cake can be customised. From the 'last disco' themes with mini disco balls to traditional anniversary designs with piped roses, I can adjust the piping density to suit the vibe of your party.
