Bring your favorite characters and ideas to life with edible art. In these hands-on workshops, I teach you how to model and sculpt detailed, expressive figurines from fondant to top any celebration cake.

A close-up of a handmade fondant figurine for a first birthday cake. I teach how to sculpt expressive faces, create detailed clothing like this ruffled pink dress, and add small accessories like the milk bottle.

This magical cake for twins features two distinct themes, Frozen and Cars, connected by a rainbow. It showcases multiple fondant toppers, including a hand-sculpted Elsa, Olaf, and a personalized car.

A cheerful jungle-themed cake for a second birthday. The topper features a playful monkey holding a banana, a custom nameplate, and a number '2' candle, all crafted from fondant.

This candy-overloaded cake is a feast for the eyes, topped with a sweet fondant teddy bear chatting on a retro telephone. My workshops cover creating these charming, textured figurines.

A fun, pet-themed cake celebrating a girl and her dog's birthday together. This piece features multiple fondant elements, including a cute puppy in a party hat, a doghouse, and a smiling sun.

About this collection

People often assume sculpting is just about being artistic, but it is really about material science and structural integrity. In my workshop, I don’t just show you how to roll fondant; we dive deep into using internal supports like toothpicks and managing CMC ratios so your characters stand tall without collapsing. You will leave this session with a full box of figurines you sculpted yourself, ready to place on your next birthday or anniversary cake.

My Hands-On Approach

When you join my studio, do not expect to sit in the back and take notes. My workshops are 100% practical. I believe you only learn to handle fondant by actually feeling the texture, measuring your own ingredients, and dealing with the humidity. Whether we are sculpting a tiny animal for a jungle-themed cake or a complex human figure, you will be the one doing the mixing, the modeling, and the detailing.

What We Cover

This one-day intensive course is designed to take the mystery out of character modeling. We cover:

  • Material Science: Understanding CMC and Tylose ratios. This is critical for preventing cracks and managing Mumbai's humidity.
  • Internal Structure: You will learn to build internal armatures using safe supports so your figures stay standing, even on top of a multi-tiered cake.
  • Character Anatomy: We break down human and animal proportions, focusing on how to create natural facial expressions, hand gestures, and clothing folds.
  • Theme Versatility: We draft a variety of figures, from jungle animals like lions and monkeys to intricate fantasy characters and even personalized human miniatures.

Why This Matters

Most people look at a professional cake and think they could never recreate those details. My goal is to change that. By the time we finish, you will have completed 10 to 11 figures. You will understand how to use tools to create depth, how to shade with petal dust, and most importantly, how to troubleshoot when the fondant gets too soft. You will walk away with a box of your own dried, ready-to-use figurines and the confidence to attempt any theme for your next home celebration.

Hi, I’m Prerana. My kitchen is my studio, and I’m all about keeping it real—no shortcuts, just hands-on practice. I’ve won medals for these sculpted cakes, but the best part is seeing you step back after a class and realize, 'Wait, I actually made that!'
