About For the Family: Elegant Heirlooms
When designing for family, we focus on balancing traditional ceremony with everyday comfort. I often work with mothers of the bride or groom to create pieces that feel regal but not heavy. We pay close attention to the fabric weight and the cut, ensuring the hand-embroidery sits perfectly on your shoulders so you can comfortably move through long wedding rituals.
Creating a family heirloom is different from designing a bridal piece. It requires a different kind of restraint and attention to heritage. Often, I work with women who want to incorporate a piece of their history, like a classic Kanjeevaram silk from a previous generation, into a fresh design.
In my HSR Layout studio in Bengaluru, we start by looking at your fabric. If it is heavy silk, we plan the Zardosi and thread work to complement the weave rather than cover it up. I use double lining and custom padding for all my family pieces. This ensures that even with dense 3D florals, pearls, or stone work, the structure stays solid and the fit remains comfortable for hours.
Whether you need a blouse for a Muhurtham, a reception, or a simple morning ritual, I focus on the story you want to tell. Do you want something understated that lets your jewelry shine, or a statement piece with intricate motif work? We will sketch it out together. My goal is to ensure you feel like yourself, just a little more polished and confident, standing by the bride or groom.
