The moment I was awarded my brown belt. This was the culmination of a grueling 12-day practical exam that tested every aspect of my Jiu-Jitsu.
A few words about my brown belt journey. Finding a mentor who understands and supports my vision for an ecological approach has been incredibly freeing.
I wouldn't be where I am without my wife and my students. The team is everything. My goal is to create a new standard for Jiu-Jitsu in Asia.
With my mentor, Priit Mihkelson. I am a firm believer that to be a good coach, you must remain a dedicated student.
A real-life testimonial from one of my students who used his Jiu-Jitsu for self-defense. This is the ultimate validation of what we teach.
We are a BJJ Globetrotters friendly academy, open to everyone from beginners to advanced practitioners. We believe knowledge not shared is worthless.

About Additional Work & Media
We are not a factory-style gym. When you look through our history, you will see a deliberate shift away from traditional, repetitive drilling toward ecological dynamics. This approach informs every milestone, from my own brown belt testing process to our recent media features, as we work to build a culture of genuine, problem-solving martial artists in HBR Layout.
Why We Are Different
Reign MMA opened in April 2019 with a simple, singular goal: to create a martial arts culture free of ego. We moved away from the standard model of teaching, where students mindlessly repeat static drills that rarely translate to actual sparring or self-defense.
The Ecological Approach
Our journey is defined by the 'Constraint-Led Approach' (CLA). Whether we are working on wrestling takedowns or BJJ ground control, we focus on live problem-solving against a resisting partner. This is why our media features, like our segment on Zee News, highlight our focus on fitness that delivers real-world results rather than just aesthetic transformation.
Building a Culture, Not Just a Team
Martial arts is about more than just technique; it is about resilience and loyalty. We are a BJJ Globetrotters friendly academy because we believe that knowledge is worthless if it is not shared. Our facility in Bengaluru is designed to be tough—no AC, high heat, and an honest environment—because we believe training should prepare you for discomfort.
We train to get comfortable with the chaos of a live fight. If you want to sweat, learn how to handle live resistance, and join a team that values hard work over egos, you are in the right place.
Vighnesh Nathan
I am Vighnesh. I started Reign MMA to prove that martial arts training doesn't need to be ego-driven or filled with endless, mindless drills. My team and I are here to build a culture of loyalty and hard work, one session at a time.
