Ecological Martial Arts Training in Bengaluru

Forget mindless drills. At Reign MMA, we use an ecological approach to build real-world grappling and fighting skills through live, problem-solving scenarios.

A private coaching session is about more than just drilling moves. It's a live, physical conversation where every action has a reaction. Here, I am providing real time resistance to help my student understand grappling concepts and adapt, which is the key to rapid skill development.

This is why we train. I received this message from a student who used the jiu jitsu skills he learned here to safely control a thief in a real life situation. This is the ultimate validation that my focus on practical, problem solving skills prepares you for the unexpected.

If you're a smaller person getting crushed by bigger opponents, this is for you. I break down common mistakes like playing closed guard and explain how to use frames and alignment to manage pressure. My coaching focuses on these core jiu jitsu concepts, not just memorizing techniques.

A proud moment with my students Zaid and Ayaan after they both won silver medals at the ADCC Asian Open in Thailand. This is what it's all about: taking the skills we develop in the gym and proving their effectiveness on an international stage.

This is what game based learning looks like. Instead of static wrestling drills, we use constrained games like these to teach destabilization and takedowns. This ecological approach makes learning dynamic and helps you develop a feel for the movements in a live setting.

It was an honor to finally meet and learn from Priit Mihkelson, a pioneer whose work in the constraints led approach has heavily influenced my own coaching system. I believe continuous learning is essential, and I bring insights from the world's best back to my students.

We take our training seriously, but we don't always take ourselves seriously. This is the culture I cultivate: a team that works hard but also knows how to have fun. We focus on building skills, not just being a robot that drills.

About this collection

In our private sessions, you won't find me standing back and shouting instructions. I serve as your active partner, providing live resistance that forces you to adapt your movement in real-time. This isn't about memorizing moves; it's about building the internal feel for distance, pressure, and leverage that actually holds up when you're under stress.

Traditional martial arts schools often rely on repetitive, static drilling, but at Reign MMA, we operate differently. Our training is grounded in the ecological approach—a framework that treats every session as a dynamic conversation between you and your training partner.

Instead of repeating a move until you can do it on a passive dummy, you learn by navigating live resistance. Whether we are working on guard passing, escaping bad positions, or setting up takedowns, you are constantly solving problems. This method forces your brain to adapt to the reality of a resisting opponent, rather than the ideal conditions of a drill.

I coach with a focus on 'Constraints-Led Approach' (CLA). By introducing specific limitations—like limiting your limb usage or changing the starting angle—we reveal the fundamental principles of grappling: balance, connection, and leverage. This makes the techniques stick because you discovered them yourself, not because I told you to memorize them.

This approach is proven in the heat of competition. My students don’t just train for fitness; they represent India on international stages like the ADCC Asian Open. Whether you are a white belt trying to survive your first sparring round or a competitor preparing for a tournament, this training environment is built to bridge the gap between 'learning' a technique and 'using' it. Leave your ego, bring your curiosity, and get ready to work.
