Yoga for Healing and Therapy in Bengaluru
I focus on working with your body, not against it. We use props like straps, bolsters, and wall ropes to make healing accessible, whether you are managing chronic pain or recovering from an injury.
Yoga can be a powerful tool for healing. In this video, I demonstrate simple finger and toe stretches using a rubber band. These exercises are incredibly effective for increasing mobility and grip strength, and can provide significant relief for those with arthritis, numbness, or carpal tunnel syndrome.
Even 15 minutes can change your whole day. This is a morning stretch routine perfect for a busy schedule, using simple props like a stool and a resistance band to gently wake up the body and energize your start.
Using a wall is a fantastic way to support your body and safely deepen stretches. Here, I demonstrate a sequence to open the shoulders, stretch the hamstrings, and find a gentle backbend, making these movements accessible for everyone.
About Yoga for Healing & Therapy
I don't believe in forcing poses. In these sessions, we use wall ropes, bolsters, and resistance bands to modify traditional movements, making them safe for specific needs like arthritis or post-injury recovery. You won't find us rushing through sequences here, as we focus on alignment and controlled breathing to help your body heal at its own pace.
Yoga is rarely about the perfect handstand. For most of us, it is about finding a way to move without pain or anxiety. I design my therapy sessions around the reality that everyone's body is different. Whether you are dealing with PCOS, cervical spondylitis, or knee pain, the goal remains the same: gentle, sustainable movement that honors your current physical limits.
Why Props Are Essential
Many people think props are for beginners, but in therapeutic yoga, they are tools for healing. I extensively use wall ropes for traction and backbends, and bolsters to support the spine. These tools allow us to hold poses longer and deeper without straining the joints. This is particularly effective for students in the Hulimavu area dealing with desk-job aches or chronic arthritis, as it allows for targeted relief that standard floor yoga might not provide.
Personalization for Chronic Conditions
When you book a session, we start with a conversation about your health history. If you have PCOS, we focus on specific Pranayama techniques to calm the nervous system and regulate stress. If you are a senior dealing with stiff joints, we incorporate chair-assisted sequences and gentle joint exercises (sukshma vyayama). My approach is never one-size-fits-all. We adapt the practice to what your body tells us that day, staying true to the philosophy that whatever happens, it is for the good.
If you are feeling stuck or frustrated with your current level of mobility, know that consistency and the right support can make a world of difference. You do not need to be flexible to start. You just need to show up.
