About Fencing Coaching
Why I Coach Fencing
For me, fencing is like playing chess with your whole body. It's not just about sword fighting or scoring points - it's about learning how to think and move at the same time. I've seen how fencing builds discipline and mental sharpness, and I want to share that with anyone willing to put in the work.
What to Expect in My Sessions
- We always start with solid warm-ups and fitness drills - agility ladders, cones, you name it. Strength matters as much as skill.
- You’ll pick up footwork, hand control, and weapon techniques specific to foil, epee, or sabre. I break things down so even beginner fencing classes don’t feel overwhelming.
- Partner drills and bouting bring in the real fun. Facing different opponents helps you learn fast and keeps things interesting.
- No matter your age or background, I’ll help you find your style and get comfortable on the strip.
Who Can Join?
- Kids from age 5, with a focus on coordination and fun (don’t worry, safety gear is a must).
- Teens and student-athletes looking to balance school and sport, with a path to state or national competitions.
- Adults, whether you’re picking up a sword for the first time or jumping back in after years away.
- Competitive athletes aiming for the next level with fencing strategy coaching and serious bouting.
Safety & Gear
Fencing is surprisingly safe. We’ve got all the protective gear - masks, jackets, chest guards. Injuries are super rare, way less than in football.
I believe in hard work, learning from every bout, and keeping things real. If you’re ready to sweat a bit and challenge yourself, you’ll fit right in.

Lohith Vijay
My Story
Hey, Lohith here. Used to fence for India, coached the team too. Always wondered, why aren’t we winning more in Olympics? So, we started Bengaluru Fencing Club - me, Vivek, Eshwar, Vishwas. People think fencing’s risky, but trust me, it’s super safe, like playing chess with your body. We even do Ayudha Pooja, respect our gear, our journey. Watching students like Niharika win medals, or Omprasad push himself, that’s what makes it worth it. It’s all about giving folks the chance.
