About Saree & Pallu Embellishments
When we work on a saree or pallu, I don’t just stitch on designs. I start by understanding the fabric's fall and how you want to wear it. If you have a family brooch or a specific element you love, bring it to the studio. We often use it to anchor the design, creating a custom pallu that feels personal, not mass-produced. Everything we add is hand-sewn, never glued, so the saree remains safe and wearable for years.
Reviving Your Wardrobe
Many clients come to me with a beautiful saree they haven't worn in years because the border feels dated or the pallu is too plain. My approach is to work with the existing fabric, not against it. We can add hand-sewn scalloped edges, delicate Zardosi vines, or even paint motifs that match your personality. The goal is to transform the piece so you feel excited to wear it again.
My Process
- Consultation: You bring the saree, and we discuss what you feel is missing. Do you want it to be heavy or minimal? Do you want to add a specific color for contrast?
- Design Sketching: I sketch the embroidery layout. Whether it is a traditional floral pattern or a modern geometric design, I make sure the scale fits the saree's width.
- Handwork: I use techniques like Dori, Zardosi, and Resham thread work. I avoid glue completely. Every stone, bead, and thread is hand-sewn, which is essential if you plan to dry-clean or wear the saree frequently.
Beyond Just Embroidery
Sometimes, the issue isn't the work, but the base fabric. I also offer custom dyeing services to get the perfect monochrome shade you have in mind. If you are preparing for a wedding, I can coordinate your saree’s embroidery with your family's outfits or your husband’s kurta, ensuring everyone looks connected in the photos. We even design custom matching shapewear if the saree material is sheer or needs better structure. Whether it is an old heirloom or a brand-new organza set, we make sure it is ready for your big day.
