About Behind the Scenes: My Design Process
My process starts with listening, not just measuring. Whether you bring me a vintage brooch to match or a sketch in your head, I sit down and draw the design with you before a single stitch is made. This ensures the embroidery techniques—like the descending work or tulle net we choose—perfectly match your saree’s vibe and your comfort level.
Bringing a vision to life is a collaborative journey that happens right here in my Vijayanagar studio. We start with a conversation where you share the story of your outfit. If you have a specific heirloom brooch or a color palette you love, we build the design around that. I believe that a great blouse isn’t just about the fabric; it’s about how it sits on you.
Here is how we work:
- The Sketch: We discuss silhouettes and necklines (like V-neck, bracket neck, or high neck) based on your body type, not just what's trending.
- The Craft: I personally oversee the hand embroidery. I avoid glue; everything is hand-sewn using Zardosi, Dori, or Resham to ensure the piece lasts.
- The Finishing: Whether we are using tulle net for an illusion back or extracting a butta design from your saree to place on the sleeve, every detail is measured to avoid that stuffed look. We want elegant, not overloaded.
- The Fitting: We don't stop until the fit is perfect. We do multiple trials to adjust the princess-cut or padded construction so you feel confident and comfortable.
My focus is on making you feel like yourself. Whether it’s a heavy bridal piece or a minimal semi-formal blouse for a housewarming, I make sure the craftsmanship is durable enough that you can re-wear it and mix-and-match it with other sarees in your wardrobe for years to come.
Let’s find the right design for you.
